Inbetweeners actors reunite for star-studded British project with multiple Taskmaster stars
The Inbetweeners star Joe Thomas and James Buckley will reunite for a hilarious Red Nose Day sketch this year.
Red Nose Day 2025 will see Thomas and Buckley, who famously play Simon and Jay on the coming-of-age comedy, do their best impressions of Oasis for an exclusive skit.
The pair will play the roles of Liam and Noel Gallagher, joining a group of stars from the “Taskmaster” television series. Alongside Thomas, who was on the show during its eighth season, the skit includes participation from Hugh Dennis, Roisin Conaty, and Martin Lewis, all of whom are also “Taskmaster” stars.
The Oasis skit will also feature Micky Flanagan, Vernon Kay, Mark Silcox, Tasha Ghouri, Melvin Odoom, and Piers Morgan.
“I grew up watching Comic Relief and the big sketch was always a highlight of the night, Thomas said. “So it’s both thrilling and nerve-wracking to be a part of it.”
“I had such a fun time with Joe, making this sketch for Comic Relief, and was honoured to be asked to be a part of it,” Buckley added. “And, of course, being a huge Oasis fan, getting to be Liam for the day was a dream come true.”
Comic Relief, the charity behind Red Nose Day, is also giving Oasis fans the chance to win two VIP tickets in the Royal Box at Wembley Stadium for band’s Reunion Tour on August 2.
Last year, Thomas hinted at a potential comeback of The Inbetweeners, suggesting that the cast would be interested in doing it again.
However, Simon Bird, who completed the Inbetweeners protagonist quartet with Blake Harrison, shut down the possibility of a new series.
He stated to The Daily Mail last September, “I must be frank; it’s not going to happen.” However, I can assure you unequivocally that there are no chances of a reunion taking place.
“We’d be happy to, but it’s not up to us. It’s up to the writers, Iain [Morris] and Damon [Beesley], and I know they’re both very busy these days.
Red Nose Day 2025 airs on Friday, March 21 from 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
