Imogen Anthony shares details about an unexpected altercation that occurred between her and her former partner, Kyle Sandilands, during a festival in the U.S.
Imogen, aged 34, and Kyle, aged 54, had been together for nearly a decade before deciding to end their relationship in the year 2019.
On the A Bit Rogue podcast, Imogen shared an uncommon perspective about her bond with the notable figure in Sydney radio scene.
She detailed a trip she took with Kyle to the 2017 Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert.
Imogen shared with host Skye Sydenham that she, along with her best friend and assistant, journeyed to a U.S. festival in an RV they had rented for their travel group.
After reaching the festival venue, the atmosphere became tense rather swiftly between her and Kyle, leading to a heated disagreement.
Imogen remarked, “We arrived at Burning Man, but my partner and I had an intense disagreement. To put it plainly, we were both feeling very irritable after a frustrating day.
She mentioned that the disagreement escalated into a very disorderly situation within the RV, as her friend observed everything from a drug-induced haze.
‘It was pretty intense,’ she said. ‘There were things flying.’
Before our disagreement, my friend was experiencing their first mushroom trip inside the RV. Meanwhile, my ex was becoming increasingly distressed in a corner, and various items were being thrown around.
As a devoted follower, I’d like to share that Kyle ultimately managed to extract himself from the bustling festival, departing the premises in his vehicle.
‘I don’t know where he went, but he took off – having a tantrum as a lot of men do,’ she said.
Following the intense events that unfolded, I wasn’t prepared for more twists. Not long after Kyle left, a team from U.S. law enforcement made an unexpected appearance at our doorstep.
Suddenly, there were flashing red and blue lights outside our window. Peeking through, we discovered ourselves enclosed by no less than three FBI vehicles,” she stated.
‘They knocked on the RV and said they’d had complaints from surrounding camps about the domestic.’
Imogen went on to explain that some individuals had requested access to the RV, causing unease within the group because there was a stash of marijuana sitting out on the table.
Approximately a minute passed before they emerged, glanced at her, and assured her that everything was alright, she shared. Furthermore, her assistant ventured into the RV while the FBI stood guard near the questionable item.
Imogen mentioned that Kyle showed up shortly following the departure of the law enforcement officers, unaware of the recent commotion or drama that had taken place.
She sat there stunned, when suddenly her ex appeared and remarked, “I’m more composed now.” She replied, “Do you realize the ordeal we’ve just experienced?
In the same conversation, Imogen provided an uncommon insight into her present status with Kyle, who they parted ways from six years ago.
She explained that our relationship began when she was twenty years old and ended when she was nearly twenty-nine. Our time together was extensive. Furthermore, she added that even though we are no longer together, things between us remain friendly.
Imogen added that both she and Kyle never expected the relationship to last as long as it did.
She remarked, “Neither of us foresaw how things would unfold,” and over a span of nine years, he consistently made me feel like we were on par.
In November 2019, the influential figure in the media world revealed unexpectedly that he had parted ways with the celebrity from Big Brother VIP on The Kyle and Jackie O Program.
As a devoted admirer, I’m compelled to share that she has taken her journey forward, now in a loving relationship with Harley Jones. The two officially became partners last year, exchanging vows in a romantic Vegas ceremony in 2022.
At Australian Fashion Week 2024, when speaking with Daily Mail Australia, the social media sensation clarified they were not planning a traditional wedding and had no immediate plans to start a family.
She remarked, “I prefer being unique. That’s my style.” Regarding having children, she added, “I don’t feel a pressing need for that right now, and I’m content with things moving at their own pace.
However, she didn’t completely rule out the idea of babies in the future.
As a lifestyle advocate, I’d rephrase that statement as follows: “While it’s still a possibility, I’m currently choosing to take a pause rather than rushing into it. I’m content with where I am right now.
Meanwhile, Kyle has since moved on with his wife Tegan Kynaston, whom he married in 2023.
The couple also share a son, Otto, who they welcomed into the world in August 2022.
