Imelda (Marcos) in Paris: Lily Collins shows off INCREDIBLE designer shoe collection for her character Emily in behind-the-scenes clip of the wardrobe department on Netflix show

Lily Collins recently posted a fascinating behind-the-scenes video from the set of Emily In Paris. The clip highlighted the massive collection of designer shoes used during filming last year.

The 36-year-old actress, known for playing Emily in the popular Netflix series, shared a behind-the-scenes look at filming the fifth season on Instagram on Wednesday.

She shared photos of the beautiful city and her fellow actors, and also praised the amazing work of the costume and wardrobe team.

In her caption she wrote: ‘We’ll always have Paris (and Rome… and Venice… and SHOES)…’.

The video showed hundreds of pairs of high heels – including stilettos, slingbacks, and wedges – neatly arranged by color in the wardrobe department on set.

It immediately brings to mind Imelda Marcos, the wife of the former President of the Philippines, who was well-known for her enormous shoe collection – estimated at around 3,000 pairs.

In 2001, more than 700 pairs were put on display at the Marikina Shoe Museum.

Netflix announced on Tuesday that the popular series will continue, sharing a new video featuring Lily to celebrate its return for a fifth season.

The streaming service announced that the comedy-drama, filmed in Paris and Rome, will return for a sixth season. This news comes just weeks after the latest episodes, starring Lily as Emily, were released.

A brief video posted on YouTube shows the character Emily entering a room through a French balcony. The camera then pulls back to reveal a croissant with a single candle shaped like the number six.

The video announced that ‘Emily in Paris’ will be back for a sixth season, with the caption ‘Home sweet home.’ Netflix chimed in, saying ‘Paris is always a good idea!’

Fans of the show Emily in Paris quickly spotted a noticeable mistake in the new season shortly after it began streaming in December.

Oh my gosh, ever since 2020, I’ve been completely hooked on Lily playing Emily! It’s just so captivating watching her try to find real love and navigate life in a new country. I’m seriously invested in whether she’ll finally find someone special and get settled!

The previous season concluded with Emily and Marcello (played by Eugenio Franceschini) together in Rome, and the story continues right there in the new season.

In the first episode, Emily moves to Rome to be with Marcello and his family, and their relationship starts to flourish with a romantic walk through the autumn countryside.

Okay, so I’ve been rewatching everything, and I noticed something crazy about her shoes! She’s always wearing these amazing, super-tall green heels, and you can see they get totally covered in mud during that long walk. But then, if you pause at just the right moment, you realize… they’re clean again! It’s a tiny thing, but as a dedicated fan, I spotted a major continuity mistake! It’s driving me wild!

While hiking with Marcello in the woods, Emily changes from heels to green wellington boots, completing her outfit of a matching green shorts and blazer.

Despite being a fast-moving shot, the image clearly shows Emily wearing knee-high boots, matching the footwear of the other actresses in the scene.

Okay, so I’m obsessed with this show, right? And I’m watching the very first episode, and I swear, just twelve minutes in, I paused it because something was OFF. Emily gets out of the car wearing these amazing green heels… and I immediately noticed it! It’s a tiny thing, but it’s a continuity error – I’m telling you, I catch everything! It’s driving me wild, but honestly, it just proves how closely I’m watching. I had to share it with the world on Reddit, of course!

The scene then shows a wide shot of Emily and the others from above, looking down through the trees – she’s wearing boots in this shot. It quickly cuts to a closer view of her stumbling in heels once more. A clever visual contrast.

Another viewer agreed: ‘I thought I saw her in boots for a second!’

The fifth season concluded with a dramatic cliffhanger: Emily and Marcello broke up, but chef Gabriel extended an invitation for her to visit him in Greece.

Viewers are still waiting to find out where Emily’s adventures will take her next, as the show follows the travels of this international marketing professional.

Emily In Paris series five is now available on Netflix.
