I’m Glad The Emmys Gave The Boys’ Stunts Some Love, And This Sweet Post From Erin Moriarty Ahead Of The Show’s Ending Has Me In My Feels

As the fifth and final season of “The Boys” gradually takes shape on the horizon, this superpowered satire has earned a well-deserved round of applause from Emmy voters, hopefully not for the last time. For the 2025 Emmy Awards, nominations have been announced, with the risqué superhero drama receiving nods in four categories, including Outstanding Stunt Performance and Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Drama series. Following the show’s stunt mastermind expressing excitement about his team of nominated performers, star Erin Moriarty had some heartfelt words to share.

For their performances in Season 4’s penultimate episode, “The Insider,” Jennifer Murray, River Godland, Alec Back, and Moses Nyarko were recognized, while supervising stunt coordinator John Koyama earned a solo nod in the other applicable category. Koyama took to Instagram to shout out the incredible stunt team, while looking back at the show’s incredible and talented crew and cast. Check out his message below:

I’d like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Stunt Team (Flat Iron Sequence). It’s a privilege to collaborate with each one of you. Your dedication, humility, and professionalism throughout the season have been nothing short of impressive. Kudos to @jen.murrayyy @river.dsa @stuntmanmo @alec_back for their outstanding performances in front of the camera in this sequence. Behind the scenes, the unsung heroes @kiraleehayashi and #CamAmbridge #Matt Rugetti worked tirelessly to create magic. A special shout-out goes to the cast who consistently bring their best, making us look good. Lots of love, respect, and appreciation to all of you 🙏🏽👊🏽🖕🏽❤️💯.

Love you forever and ever koy

For the first time since the Outstanding Stunt Performance category was introduced in 2021, “The Boys” has been nominated for this award, including this year and winning in 2023. This is a double honor for the show, but it’s also bittersweet because filming for “The Boys” has concluded, so everyone involved must be feeling quite emotional about it. Moreover, since this will be the second-to-last time that “The Boys” can be nominated for the Emmys, it adds an extra layer of significance to this achievement.

Nominations for Emmys arrive only a few weeks following the completion of “The Boys” main storyline in production, and Moriarty shared an emotional farewell post about the series ending then. It’s uncertain what lies ahead beyond Soldier Boy’s return and the eagerly awaited “Supernatural” reunion, but it promises to be as thrilling and intense as before, with stunts that will undoubtedly be extraordinary and worthy of Emmy recognition once more.

It’s tough to accept that “The Boys” series is wrapping up, but there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic. The high-octane performances from Jennifer Murray, River Godland, Alec Back, Moses Nyarko, and the entire stunt team will undoubtedly catch the attention of award-givers. With Season 5 on the horizon, I can’t help but anticipate the thrilling action that awaits us. If it’s anything like the adrenaline-pumping sequences from Season 4, fans are in for a rollercoaster ride!

This year, “The Boys” faces tough competition at the Emmys, leaving uncertainty if it will win any awards, such as those for Stunt Performance and Stunt Coordination. However, viewers will need to tune in on CBS on Sunday, September 14 at 8 p.m. ET to find out who takes home the prizes. In the interim, all four seasons of “The Boys” can be streamed with an Amazon Prime subscription.
