I was killing time one January evening watching old Jackass clips when I unexpectedly learned about a new movie from Johnny Knoxville and the crew right before bed. I’m not sure if revisiting some of the show’s grossest stunts had anything to do with it, but Jackass 5 was announced just a couple of hours after I watched “Poo Cocktail Supreme” – again!
In a late-night Instagram post that came out of nowhere, Knoxville revealed that the surprisingly emotional Jackass Forever wasn’t the final rodeo and that a new installment would be in theaters halfway through the 2026 movie schedule. I’m stoked to say the least (I was the perfect age for the show back in 2000), but I do have some questions ahead of the new Jackass movie.

What We Know About Jackass 5 So Far
Honestly, details about the new Jackass movie are still pretty scarce. We don’t even know if Jackass 5 will be the final name – the previous movies all had additional titles like Number Two, 3D, and Forever. It’s possible they’ll go with something completely different, like I’ve Got Five On It, and maybe even bring back the giant hand from Jackass 3D (along with that surprisingly great WrestleMania 38 segment).
That said, here’s everything we know so far:
- Jackass 5 arrives in theaters on June 26, 2026
- Johnny Knoxville is coming back
There’s still plenty more to discuss, but for now, here are five questions I’m thinking about regarding Jackass 5 and the Jackass series as a whole.

First Off, Will Bam Margera Be Involved At All?
It seems unlikely Bam Margera will be in another Jackass movie, particularly after his comments last year. However, I’m still hoping he’ll return. Maybe I’m being naive, but I’d love to see Margera, Johnny Knoxville, and Jeff Tremaine resolve their issues and work together again. It would really make me happy if they could.
Picture this: you’re watching the new Jackass 5 movie, and then, about ten minutes in, Bam Margera unexpectedly appears. It would be an unforgettable, legendary moment that people would be discussing for years to come. I’m really hoping Bam isn’t finished with the Jackass series.

Who Will Be Joining Johnny Knoxville?
Since the first Jackass show on MTV in 2000, the series has featured a consistent group of daredevils and stunt performers who’ve put themselves in harm’s way to entertain audiences. Now that many of the original cast members are getting older, it makes you wonder if everyone – except Bam, perhaps – will return for more crazy stunts and playful antics?
Fans are wondering if original Jackass crew members like Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Danger Ehren, Preston Lacy, and Wee Man will return for future projects this summer. Steve-O had doubts about another movie a few years ago, mainly because of the injuries Johnny Knoxville sustained while filming Jackass Forever in 2022. However, it’s difficult to picture those guys not participating somehow. Only time will tell if they’ll be back.

Will Any Of The Fresh Faces From Jackass 4 Come Back?
Jackass Forever brought back the original cast members and also introduced some hilarious new people, like Zach Holmes and Jasper Dolphin (along with his dad, Compston Wilson). Considering that Johnny Knoxville mentioned the series might need to evolve, I’m curious to see if these newcomers – including Sean McInerney, Rachel Wolfson, and Eric Manaka – will return for more wild stunts.
As I said before, the original cast members are getting older. Johnny Knoxville will be 55 just a few months before Jackass 5 is released, and Steve-O turns 51 less than two weeks before the premiere. Looking at the rest of the original group, Danger Ehren, who will be 50 later this year, is actually the youngest. It makes you wonder if they can still pull off challenges like the Quiet Game or the Toro Totter, or any of their other crazy stunts.

How Will They Up The Ante This Time?
People often describe the Jackass films as immature, crude, or even risky, but it’s hard to argue with their lasting impact. For over 25 years, Johnny Knoxville and his team haven’t just pushed boundaries—they’ve repeatedly shattered them, constantly trying more daring and outrageous stunts.
Whenever I watch a Jackass movie and the stunts get really extreme, I usually think nothing can be more outrageous. After seeing Johnny Knoxville get seriously injured by the bull in the latest film, I had that same thought. But it looks like I’ll find out if they can outdo it in about five and a half months.

Jackass 4 Felt Like The Franchise’s Swan Song, But Will Jackass Ever End?
Watching Jackass Forever felt like a final goodbye to the series, especially with the touching closing credits that celebrated the best moments and everyone involved. After seeing it in 2022, I genuinely thought that was the last I’d see of the crew I’d been enjoying—and cringing at—since I was a teenager.
With a fifth Jackass movie on the way and filming starting soon, it makes you wonder if this franchise will ever really end. If these guys keep doing crazy stunts and outrageous pranks for years to come, I’m curious to see what it will look like down the road – in five, ten, or even more years. But honestly, I’m happy to watch it all happen, no matter what they do.
We can expect to hear more details soon about Jackass 5 as its release date approaches. I’m curious to see how the crew will playfully tease Supergirl, since both it and an upcoming superhero film are scheduled to come out around the same time.
