I'm A Celebrity's Danny Jones shares the one incident that left the camp terrified - after he was crowned King of the Jungle

As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the stories from this year’s “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!” have been nothing short of captivating. The resilience and determination displayed by the contestants, particularly Danny and Melvin, are truly inspiring.

During his time in the jungle, Danny Jones from “I’m A Celebrity” shared the one experience that had his fellow campmates genuinely frightened.

The McFly singer, 38, was crowned champion after pipping Coleen Rooney, 38, to the post on Sunday.

Following the well-known bridge’s passage and reuniting with his loved ones, it turns out that the program might have had a significantly altered course.

Danny shared with The Mirror an incident from filming when, due to the dreadful weather conditions, the celebrities had to abruptly leave the camp and seek refuge in the Bush Telegraph.

In Australia, heavy rain significantly affected the actors’ spirits during their performance on the set, and it became so severe that they had to leave the campsite due to it.

The singer told the publication it was one of the hardest nights he had experienced.

And it wasn’t just the weather that made the experience uncomfortable.

In simpler terms, the McFly star disclosed that everyone was compelled to fight off leeches, and these creatures turned out to be quite troublesome. Consequently, Danny ensured that no one was enduring their discomfort.

As a lifestyle expert, let me share my recent experience: “Last night was quite challenging, we found ourselves rather cozy, or should I say cramped, with twelve of us huddled together. The heat was relentless, making close proximity feel even more stifling. To top it off, the incessant rain attracted leeches, so daily inspections became a necessity.

After Melvin Odoom shared that he experienced one of the toughest nights of his life while in the camp prior to the program, Danny subsequently made a confession.

Last week, the BBC Radio 1 host, aged 44, found himself shedding tears on air due to an unfortunate incident. He had to spend the night in the Bush Telegraph hut because his sleeping bag got soaked by heavy downpour.

He told TopMob: ‘I thought about quitting because I found it difficult and I thought the finish line seemed quite far away at the time but no, because I didn’t want to let my family down.

In simpler terms, ‘I was the one who got eliminated first on Strictly, and it was clear to me that I had disappointed others with this outcome.’

A significant portion of Melvin’s distressing experience wasn’t captured on video, but later, he disclosed the events that transpired that fateful night, culminating in his rescue by the camp security personnel after he cried out for help in the dead of the night.

He told TopMob: ‘I woke up one night and I was literally just covered like I was drenched. I had my mic on and I was like, ‘Guys, I’m wet, help’ and those guys were on it.

Without warning, a security guard emerged from the bushes, dressed much like a commando, wearing a helmet with a light. He asked, “Mel, are you alright? Follow me, please.

‘If I had requested, he likely would’ve picked me up. Instead, he removed me from the hammock and directed me towards Bush Telegraph.’

There once was a wonderful man named Chris who inquired about my well-being. In response, I admitted that I was feeling chilly and having trouble sleeping.

The ITV team provided him with some dry garments, wrapped Melvin in two sleeping bags, then asked if he preferred to stay. They subsequently allowed him to rest inside the hut.

During the show, Melvin wasn’t seen displaying this emotion, but afterward, he was spotted exiting the hut while visibly emotional. He confided, “I choke up at romantic comedies, but I felt ashamed because there’s someone like Coleen who didn’t shed a tear, and she has children. It was challenging for me to be in that setting and feel that way.

Danny was warmly greeted with a triumphant reception at the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa, Surfer’s Paradise, following his coronation as the King of the Jungle.

After the thrilling conclusion of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! on Sunday night, winners Danny, second-place finisher Coleen, and third-place star Reverend Richard Coles were warmly welcomed by their loved ones as they exited the jungle and returned to lavish accommodations after three weeks.

Danny joyfully placed a floral headpiece on top of his hat, cheering loudly as throngs of people welcomed him and the other contestants.

At the heartrending finale, Danny burst into tears upon embracing his wife Georgia – mom of their six-year-old son Cooper – on a bridge, marking a touching reunion after spending three weeks apart.

Despite being thrilled about her campmate Danny, Colleen expressed disappointment upon narrowly missing the chance to be crowned “Queen of the Jungle.
