I’m A Celebrity stars adjust to new-look camp as they return from trial to toilet turnstiles, pay-as-you-go shower and tempting treat machine – after introduction of cash cards
As someone who has spent countless hours watching reality TV shows, I must admit that this new development on “I’m A Celebrity” has piqued my interest. The idea of celebrities having to pay for their basic necessities and luxuries is not only entertaining but also reminiscent of real life.
The celebrities on “I’m A Celebrity” got accustomed to their revamped camp upon their return from the trial, discovering that it had been given a fresh look.
Starting from next week, I’ll be adopting a new policy where every action taken within our camp environment will require a small fee, including utilizing amenities such as restrooms. This will be facilitated through a convenient cash card system for a streamlined and fair approach to resource management.
On Thursdays, the camp underwent renovations that included updates reflecting recent alterations. New entry systems for the toilets, like turnstiles, were installed. Additionally, a pay-per-use shower was set up, and a wall of vending machines offering filtered water and logs was placed.
For added enticement, there was also a vending machine available, allowing the celebrity participants to splurge their winnings on additional camp goodies.
As I participate in various contests within the camp, any earnings I secure will be added to my personal account. The challenging part comes when I have to decide how to use this money wisely – whether it’s spending on necessities for a more comfortable stay or treating myself with indulgent items for enjoyment.
At the end of today’s ordeal, the participants made their way back to camp, now equipped with turnstiles for accessing the restroom, shower, swimming pool, and bath tub. Each visit costs $10.
Furthermore, they set up a vending wall dispensing freshly filtered water and firewood for sale at $10 per item. Additionally, a snack dispenser was available for the campers to purchase additional treats while camping.
Dean, Alan, and Danny didn’t hesitate to use their initial $10 each, as they quickly headed for the jungle shower to freshen up following the trial.
Danny stated, “It seems unusual to pay for a refreshing natural waterfall, yet the experience is incredibly enjoyable. I could easily spend the entire day immersed in it.
Meanwhile Dean said: ‘Best $10 I ever spent.’
Oti and Richard were unable to find the camp’s supply of rice and beans upon their return to camp.
Realizing that Maura probably discarded the rice and beans in the trash, Oti went to check the dumpsters.
After Oti found the rice and beans, Maura shared with the Bush Telegraph: ‘I didn’t intentionally toss the rice and beans into the trash, but to be truthful, it’s the right spot for them. It was purely an accident.’
In this week’s special edition of Unpacked, I was thrilled to learn that And and Dec revealed a new twist: The campmates would be divided into teams of four, with each team receiving a cash card.
While conversing with Joel Dommett, Dec explained: ‘The contestants will be divided into three groups of four, and they’ll approach the prize bank. The top three individuals from these groups will compete against each other for the chance to earn cash or add to their winnings on a cash card.’
‘So each team is getting one of these. Now everything will cost them from hereon in.’
Ant commented: ‘Therefore, necessities, minor indulgences, or anything they need to purchase using funds loaded onto their prepaid card.’
Dec announced that they would roll out this change within a short while, as Joel humorously commented, “It seems we’ve made the switch to a cashless system.
Dec made it clear that they would need to cover all costs. In other words, even basic needs like using the restroom would come at a price. This includes necessities and everything else.
Audience members on the program were taken aback when they understood that visiting the restroom could incur a cost for the campers, suggesting that they may face restrictions if their payment method fails.
Ant asked: Should I consider whether this is a nice treat for me, or should I go with the shower gel instead?
