As an ardent admirer of Richard Coles, the multi-talented vicar and former pop star, I find myself utterly captivated by his extraordinary journey through life. From his days as a member of The Communards to his current role as a Church of England priest, he has proven time and time again that one can lead a spiritual life without sacrificing a sense of humor or a love for 5000-calorie diets!

As a lifestyle connoisseur, let me share an intriguing tidbit: One more contestant from I’m A Celebrity has become unexpectedly wealthy, amassing nearly the same fortune as fellow camper, Coleen Rooney. Quite remarkable, wouldn’t you agree?

Reverend Richard Coles will venture into the jungle this coming Wednesday evening, joining Love Island alum Maura Higgins. However, it’s worth noting that he has already amassed a fortune of a million pounds.

Many celebrities stand to earn a considerable sum from the ITV program, but former ’80s pop star Reverend Coles, known for his band The Communards alongside Jimmy Somerville, has already enjoyed the advantages as the country’s beloved television cleric.

Richard’s firm Mistramark Ltd has paid £179,047 in corporation tax over 2022 and 2023.

The rate at the time was 19 per cent, meaning the company netted around £940k profit.

The company currently holds approximately £542,977 liquid funds in its bank account. Additionally, it boasts robust savings of £354,477, which represents a substantial increase from the previous year’s amount of £128,736, equating to nearly three times that figure.

Besides his thriving musical endeavors, Richard also amassed wealth through various successful television stints like Strictly Come Dancing, Celebrity MasterChef, Songs of Praise, Newsnight Review, Have I Got News For You?, and QI.

Apart from his television work, Richard has dabbled in radio broadcasting as well. He’s penned several crime-themed books and an extremely popular autobiography.

This year, the estimated earnings of the contestants on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! were disclosed, as they appear on the ITV program.

It’s believed that Colleen Rooney could earn a staggering sum, potentially breaking the record for the highest payment ever on this show, given earlier estimates suggest her salary might be as high as £1.5 million.

Simultaneously, it’s reported that professional dancer Oti Mabuse might be earning a £200,000 salary, similar to what singer Tulisa from N-Dubz is believed to receive.

According to reports, both Podcaster GK Barry and McFly vocalist Danny Jones are believed to be earning approximately the same as Alan, with an additional estimated sum of £150,000.

It’s been speculated that the actor Alan Halsall from Coronation Street might receive a salary ranging from approximately £100,000 to £150,000 per year from ITV executives.

Former boxer Barry McGuigan might win £100,000, whereas talk show host Jane Moore from Loose Women is estimated to earn approximately £120,000 during her tenure.

Next DJ and TV presenter Melvin Odoom is thought to be receiving a fee of around £90,000.

Richard disclosed to TopMob that he had gained weight due to consuming approximately 5,000 calories each day prior to entering the I’m a Celebrity jungle.

The cleric, previously a well-known actor within the Church of England, acknowledged that this strategic decision has aided him in gaining more weight, as he will eventually need to adopt a simpler diet consisting mainly of beans and rice.

When asked if he dieted before the show, Rev Richard replied: ‘I spent my time before the show on a cruise ship.’

Instead, I was planning to reduce my calorie consumption in anticipation, but it didn’t seem to have the desired effect.

For the past few days, I’ve been consuming around 5,000 calories daily. Based on this, I believe that my weight has increased since my last measurement a couple of days ago, and it seems likely that I’ll continue to gain weight when I measure again.

Certainly! ‘No, I haven’t actually carried out that plan. I considered doing it due to the assumption that my body would notice a drastic change from consuming 5000 calories a day to just 500 calories a day. It seems beneficial, and I anticipate losing some weight as a result.’

On the seventh day following their entry into the camp, Reverend Richard will be joining the company of well-known individuals such as supermodel Coleen Rooney (aged 39), former X-Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos (36), and boxer Barry McGuigan (32).

However, a past participant of Strictly Come Dancing cautioned, ‘I’m generally competitive during trivia games, but if it involves a rush for a buffet… As a vicar, they often prevented me from attending the buffet because I’d push aside elderly women to reach the pork pies.’

When questioned about incorporating his religious beliefs into the jungle, the vicar acknowledged that he would indeed find it indispensable, especially during Bushtucker trials involving height, which is his foremost fear.

In all honesty, I found myself paralyzed with terror just a step or two off the ground recently. Quite a chilling experience, I must say. Yet, I’m confident that a sturdy companion with a safety harness won’t be far away.

However, he clarified, “I’m completely comfortable with it [sharing his faith]. I won’t be breaking into hymns like ‘All the King’s Hymns.’
