As a seasoned viewer of I’m A Celebrity, I must say this year’s show has left me utterly speechless – but not because of the jungle delicacies or bushtucker trials. It’s the stark reality of the rations these celebrities are given that has truly shocked me.

Fans of “I’m A Celebrity” have expressed worry about the responsibility that ITV has towards the contestants, following Ant and Dec’s disclosure of the daily rations of rice and beans given to the campmates.

Finalists among celebrities receive the privilege of choosing a three-course meal, yet this indulgence arrives only following several weeks during which they have been subsisting on rationed supplies.

Last month, Ant and Dec revealed on social media the specific daily food rations given to celebrities when their performance in trials was less than satisfactory.

The duo was observed emptying the contents of two caramel-colored sacks, revealing to spectators the genuine quantity of rice and beans they contained.

In a past episode, it became clear to Dec why other campmates had resorted to gathering beans from the river since the amount they received was insufficient and barely worth mentioning.

However, fans raised concerns upon observing the rice and beans meal, suggesting that it might indicate a lack of attention to health and nutritional needs (duty of care issue), as the celebrities seemed not to be consuming their recommended daily five servings of fruits and vegetables.

In the video clip, Dec explained that the question asked was: ‘What is the exact amount of rice and beans they receive?’

‘Ah well that’s a very good question,’ Ant replied. ‘And we’ve got the exact amount they get.’

Ant, holding two small brown bags, said, “Here’s their daily ration – one for rice and one for beans. This is what each individual receives. If they don’t perform well in the tests, this is all they have to subsist on.

Dec suggested opening the sacks now, as they started to unload the rice and beans,” or “Dec proposed that we open the sacks, and indeed it appears they depend heavily on their winnings since these are…

Ant inquired, ‘What do you have there?’ Dec displayed his rice first, transferring it into a brown cardboard container beforehand. In response, Ant followed suit, also showing off his rice and beans, which they both presented to the camera, revealing a modest amount.

Ant remarked: “Isn’t much to see, I must say. It seems quite filthy, doesn’t it? Just look at that fellow; you can understand why they were collecting them from the river the other day, after they had been thrown into the stream.

Supporters of the series were taken aback by the limited food supply, expressing their surprise on a platform once known as Twitter: “I thought they had that much for each meal, not each day.

I didn’t anticipate it being so small.

“Are they not being provided with the necessary care to consume at least five servings of fruits and vegetables daily?” (formal)

“That amount wouldn’t last a day with my small Chihuahuas; they have quite an appetite!

‘That’s ridiculous, they should get that per meal. A child would starve on that.’

McFly’s Danny Jones was crowned this year’s King of the Jungle in Sunday night’s episode.

In a heartfelt reunion, the 38-year-old singer burst into tears upon seeing his wife Georgia, mother of their six-year-old son Cooper, on a bridge. After being apart for three weeks, they embraced each other with open arms in an emotional moment.

Despite being thrilled with her campmate Danny, Colleen expressed disappointment upon barely missing the opportunity to be crowned Queen of the Jungle.

Before Ant and Dec announced the winner, following a staggering 10 million votes, it seemed evident that Colleen was eager for victory and all the acclaim within the Rooney family.

When asked about the significance of winning, Coleen expressed that it would be her turn to make her sons feel as proud of her as they’ve always been of their father.

Following his victory, Danny expressed gratitude: “From deep within me, thank you. Every ounce of effort I put forth was there, and it’s an amazing sensation to be admired. Your appreciation means the world to me.

In this very episode, I’m thrilled to share that the third-place contender, the reverend himself, Richard Coles, became the tenth celebrity to bid farewell to the show. Quite a journey it has been for him!
