I’m A Celeb star Maura Higgins says she’ll be arriving hungover and WON’T be having any sexy shower moments after revealing she’s single amid Pete Wicks dating rumours
As a seasoned TV watcher with a penchant for reality shows, I must say, the arrival of Maura Higgins into the I’m A Celebrity jungle is a move that has me intrigued! With her fiery personality and no-nonsense attitude, she’s proven to be a crowd favorite in previous shows.
Maura Higgins, known for her stint on “I’m A Celebrity,” disclosed that she’s yet to fully recover from her recent visit to Las Vegas, as she prepares to venture into the jungle shortly.
Previously featured on Love Island, a woman aged 33, departed for a boisterous vacation in the United States with her companions, causing perplexity among her followers as she was strongly predicted to become part of the program’s cast.
Instead, Maura was able to squeeze in the trip only a few days prior to her arrival at the jungle, preparing herself to enter the camp by this coming week.
In an interview with TopMob Maura revealed she is ‘still hungover’ from the holiday and has done no preparation for her TV appearance.
She openly admitted, “I’m operating on Pacific Time from my Vegas trip. To be honest, I’m far from great. I’ve got a bit of a hangover going on. Las Vegas seems to have taken its toll on me – not in a good way. It feels like I’ve turned into the character from The Hangover, with all the shakes and everything.
The experience was incredibly intense, but left me utterly drained. It was really demanding to the fullest extent. Upon landing, I was instantly hit by jet lag and fell asleep without a moment’s notice. At this point, I can’t even tell what day it is or where I am.
Additionally, Maura confessed that she hasn’t given the idea of stepping into the jungle shower, known for Myleene Klass’ memorable white bikini instance, much consideration.
In a playful manner, she quipped, “It might turn out to be more of a fiasco than a seductive moment. To be honest, I might trip and sprain an ankle – or so it seems, given my past experiences.
I’ve got my swimsuits ready, yet I’m still uncertain about it. The thought of that water being icy cold has me a bit anxious. You see, I can’t stand cold water, so there’s a chance I might avoid swimming altogether during this trip.
Prior to Maura’s Australian debut, rumors swirled about Pete’s reluctance to fully invest in our relationship. Consequently, I found myself openly declaring my marital status when questioned if we were an item.
The refusal occurred a few days following when Pete, aged 36, and Maura had their date night last week, with Maura leaving shortly after for her participation in the I’m A Celebrity jungle.
She clarified: “I’m not romantically involved with Mr. Wicks. I’ve gone out with numerous individuals. To put it simply, I do go on dates, but I am currently single. It’s common for people to date.
On the previous Monday, they were noticed at the Ludovico Einaudi concert held at the London Palladium, while a month prior, they were caught locking lips outside an eatery in East London.
This came despite it being reported that the Essex lothario had been ‘growing close’ to his Polish dance partner, 30, and introduced her to his mum.
Previously, the captivating Irish woman expressed about Pete, “I am deeply fond of him; he’s truly remarkable. It’s quite peculiar, but we connected swiftly following my departure from Love Island.
As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but share this exciting tidbit! She openly admitted that we haven’t chatted about her upcoming sojourn on the ITV show, and regarding those whispers of him jetting off to Australia, she clearly stated, “I don’t know a thing, he hasn’t mentioned it to me either.
As a die-hard fan, I’d be thrilled if it were true that Pete, in my eyes, was considering jetting off to the land of kangaroos and beaches, should he find himself eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing prematurely. His reason? To stand by his dearest friend, Sam Thompson, who’s taking the helm of an ITV spin-off show alongside Maura, down under!
On Thursday evening, she’ll make her way into the I’m A Celebrity jungle as a late entrant, accompanied by Reverend Richard Coles, a musician turned priest from the band The Communards. She will be joining her friend and former X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos, 36, as well as Coleen Rooney, who is 39 years old.
When asked who might travel to Australia to see her once she finishes the show, she replied: ‘A few friends have mentioned they could go, but honestly, it’d make for an enjoyable surprise if anyone were there.’
In reference to her fellow camper during future discussions about the high-profile Wagatha Christie case, Maura expressed her support for Coleen by declaring that she was on ‘Team Coleen’. The trial in question took place in 2022, with Rebekah Vardy accusing Coleen Rooney of defamation.
She expressed: “I’m looking forward to connecting with Coleen. If I were in her shoes, I’d follow a similar approach. I’d share something on my Instagram story, making it visible only to specific individuals as a means of testing that person. That seems like how my mind operates.
Backing Coleen is likely to provoke Rebekah, aged 42, since she has openly criticized Coleen’s rival, a participant on the Jungle, regarding her public image.
However, when it came to Pete from The Only Way is Essex, Maura hesitated to openly express her thoughts.
For several weeks, there have been whispers that the reality star might be participating in ITV’s prime-time program. In the recent past, Maura has tried to mislead fans about this possible participation.
She is set to spend three weeks alongside Coleen and Tulisa Contostavlos from N-Dubz, living off a diet primarily consisting of rice and beans, while cohabiting with spiders and snakes in their camp.
Strictly’s Oti Mabuse and McFly singer Danny Jones are among the other signings this year.
Her rapid visit to Las Vegas left many spectators believing she wouldn’t be making a surprise appearance on this season’s I’m A Celebrity.
However, TopMob indicates that Maura might be pushing the boundaries with her nightlife activities in Sin City during the recent weekend.
A representative from ITV stated that she is expected to arrive this current week. The brand visit was prearranged, given that Maura had previously consented to it and it coincided with her scheduled arrival dates for the Jungle.
Trying to make the most of her opulent existence, Maura agreed to a complimentary journey to Las Vegas, courtesy of the cosmetic company, Space NK. She was aware that this trip might push the limits regarding her upcoming arrival in Australia.
In a luxurious 500-dollar-per-night suite at The Venetian Hotel, Maura enjoyed company with Stacey Solomon, and was privately jetting off to glamorous Las Vegas on a first-class flight, all arranged for Thursday.
Spoiled with lavish breakfast spa treatments and indulgent meals of squid at Nobu and lobster at the Bellagio, her upcoming Australian experience is quite different, as she’ll be dining on a simple diet of rice and beans instead.
Following Adele’s performance at her Las Vegas residency, when the artist paused her “Easy on Me” song to praise Maura for her striking red outfit, the Love Island personality then proceeded to celebrate the night with companions.
Hinting at the last-minute nature of her upcoming journey Down Under, Maura playfully tantalized followers by sharing an airplane image and asking, “Off to where?
After her unexpected appearance in Las Vegas, those anticipating her arrival at Brisbane Airport found themselves taken aback and asserting that she had already withdrawn from the Jungle.
But ITV knows she is too good a signing to let go.
In 2019, when she stepped into the Love Island villa with her straight-forward, assertive attitude, the ITV executives were pleasantly surprised, and this Irish celebrity swiftly gained popularity among fans.
The network likely expects Maura to employ a similar strategy in the I’m A Celebrity jungle, which would make her an ideal late entrant to stir things up within the camp.
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues Tuesday at 9pm on ITV1, STV and ITVX
