I’m A Big Marvel And DC Fan, And These Were My 11 Favorite Moments From Their Movies And TV Shows In 2025

With just over two weeks left in 2025, Marvel and DC have already finished releasing their major movies and TV shows for the year. Both companies offered a diverse range of content in 2025, and I’m excited to see what they come up with for their 2026 releases.

As the year wraps up, I want to share my 11 favorite moments from Marvel and DC movies and shows released over the past year, starting with the earliest and moving forward. Let’s quickly revisit these highlights before we get even more excited about what’s coming next year! Be warned: spoilers are ahead.

The Bride Exacting Revenge On Ilana In Creature Commandos

The show Creature Commandos almost didn’t make this list because only two out of its eight episodes from the first season were released in 2025. However, the season finale delivered a satisfying conclusion: The Bride finally got her revenge on Princess Ilana Rostovic for killing Nina Mazursky. Ilana, the princess of Pokolistan, had murdered the amphibious human, but Victor Frankenstein’s creation discovered the truth. Driven by grief over losing her only friend, she killed Ilana, stopping the ruthless queen from taking over the world.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’s Time-Twisty Origin

The animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man already played with time travel, imagining a Peter Parker mentored by Norman Osborn instead of Tony Stark. But the first season finale really complicated things! It revealed the spider that gave Peter his powers came from the future and contained his own blood. As someone who loves time travel stories, I found this ‘bootstrap paradox’ really clever. It also cleverly set the stage for the introduction of Venom later on.

Brave New World’s Dogfight Over Celestial Island

The fight between Sam Wilson and Red Hulk was a highlight of Captain America: Brave New World, but I found the aerial battle over Celestial Island even more compelling. Sam and Joaquin Torres had to prevent a war between the US and Japan, all while avoiding killing the pilots—who were secretly being controlled by Samuel Sterns. They succeeded in saving the day, though Joaquin suffered serious injuries during the fight.

Daredevil Vs. Muse In Born Again

The new Disney+ show, Daredevil: Born Again, briefly showed Charlie Cox as Daredevil in its first episode, but it wasn’t until the sixth episode that he fully donned the costume again. This happened after learning that Angela del Toro had gone missing. He found her at the hideout of the serial killer known as Muse, and a fight immediately began. Though Muse managed to escape, it was exciting to see Daredevil powerfully and skillfully fight him.

The Thunderbolts Becoming The New Avengers

I really liked how the Thunderbolts defeated The Void by helping Bob deal with his inner darkness instead of just fighting, but what I enjoyed even more was seeing them stand up to Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. Her attempt to rebrand them as the New Avengers might have gotten her out of trouble, but Yelena made it clear they now have leverage over her. It’ll be interesting to see if Valentina tries anything underhanded after this.

The Emergence Of Mephisto In Ironheart

As a huge MCU fan, I was so excited to finally see Mephisto show up in Ironheart! We’ve been guessing about him ever since WandaVision, and it was awesome to learn he was the one behind Parker Robbins’ powers, giving him that cool cloak. Then, to see Riri Williams making a deal with him? Incredible! Mephisto is seriously powerful in the Marvel comics, and I’m really hoping this isn’t the last we see of Sacha Baron Cohen in the role. I want to see so much more of him in the MCU!

Mr. Terrific Tearing Up The LuthorCorp Camp In Superman

It feels strange to mention a scene from Superman that doesn’t actually feature Superman, but I have to point out Mr. Terrific’s amazing moment. When the team arrived at Lex Luthor’s camp—where Superman was trapped in a pocket dimension—Mr. Terrific, played by Edi Gathegi, easily defeated everyone who attacked him using his T-spheres and hand-to-hand combat, all while protecting Lois Lane with a force field. This is the scene from the movie I’ve watched the most, and it’s also how I discovered the song “5 Years Time” by Noah and the Whale.

Sue Storm Pushing Galactus Into The Portal In First Steps

Galactus is incredibly powerful, much like Mephisto, and the Fantastic Four couldn’t defeat him in their first encounter. It was impressive to watch Sue Storm use her force field to force Galactus back through a portal, banishing him from our universe – with a crucial assist from the Silver Surfer. Though using such strong willpower proved fatal for Sue, her baby, Franklin, was able to bring her back to life with his own abilities.

Eyes Of Wakanda Tying Back To The First Black Panther Movie

Mostly, Eyes of Wakanda tells a self-contained story about Wakanda’s history and its advanced technology. But the final episode added a surprising twist: a Black Panther from the far future traveled back to 1896. He instructed two Wakandan soldiers to leave a vibranium axe where they found it, preventing a terrible future timeline. This sets the stage for Ulysses Klaue and Killmonger to steal the axe in Black Panther, ultimately leading T’Challa to open Wakanda to the world.

Peacemaker’s Earth-X Nazi Reveal

Initially, the Earth John Cena’s Christopher Smith discovered in Season 2 of Peacemaker appeared ideal for a fresh start. His brother was alive, his father was a good person, and Emilia Harcourt was interested in a relationship. However, the reveal that this was a world where the Nazis had won World War II and ruled the United States was a huge surprise. While it might not be my single favorite superhero moment of 2025, it was certainly the most shocking.

Marvel Zombies’ Bruce Banner Becoming Infinity Hulk

Beating a zombie Wanda Maximoff who can still use her powerful chaos magic is a tough challenge. The finale of Marvel Zombies suggested a Hulk powered by all six Infinity Stones might be able to do it, but even that wasn’t enough. Wanda actually absorbed the Stones’ energy herself! Still, it was awesome seeing an Infinity-powered Hulk unleashed, even if just for a little while.
