Be warned: this article contains spoilers from the latest episode of Chicago Med Season 11, titled “Our So-Called Lives.” The episode aired as part of the 2026 TV schedule and is available to stream the next day with a Peacock subscription.
Hannah’s pregnancy has been filled with drama throughout season 11 of Chicago Med. She’s dealt with gossip, her father’s disapproval, and fears about the dangers of childbirth, mirroring her mother’s experience. Adding to her emotional turmoil is the possibility of Archer’s feelings for her and now seeing him move on with someone else as she prepares to become a mother. The recent events in the episode “Our So-Called Lives” left Hannah deeply upset, but actress Jessy Schram happily discussed her character’s changing wardrobe with TopMob.
This week’s episode eased my worry that Archer would hide his connection with Hannah from Dr. Kingston, whom he’s now calling his “girlfriend.” While Hannah seemed supportive of their relationship and doesn’t appear to still have feelings for Archer, she increasingly came across as lonely. It wasn’t clear if Dr. Kingston was doubting their involvement with a shared patient, or if she was hurt seeing Archer focus on another woman, but Hannah clearly needed support and didn’t have anyone to turn to.
Jessy Schram did a great job showing Hannah’s sadness at the end, like she was holding back tears. Many viewers probably feel bad for Hannah because she doesn’t have much support right now, and it’s not anyone’s fault. Archer is respecting their boundaries – Hannah has made it clear they’re just friends co-parenting. It’s a difficult situation for the hospital’s OB-GYN, though.
It felt like a good moment to recall what the actress happily told me during a break in filming in late 2025 about wearing a fake pregnancy belly while playing her character, Hannah. After talking about the difference between wearing everyday clothes and scrubs in Hallmark movies, Schram explained:
At the beginning of the season, I was constantly asking about the fake pregnancy belly – when we’d get it, how it would work, and what stage of pregnancy we were portraying. I got really caught up in the details. Then, after wearing it for just a week, I realized we’d be doing that throughout the entire season! [laughs]
While many TV show surprises don’t clearly show time passing, a growing baby bump is a reliable indicator! Hannah’s pregnancy wasn’t noticeable before the dramatic season finale, so her character’s clothing didn’t seem to change much. Now, though, Hannah is visibly pregnant, and the actress is experiencing a lot of changes while filming. She explained:
We’re still in the early stages and working out the best sizes for the prosthetics. I’ve been experimenting with a few different options – some are full jumpsuits, while others are simpler corset-style attachments. It’s been a fascinating process creating the pregnancy look for Hannah.
It’s understandable that Hannah has appeared with different-sized pregnancy bellies – Chicago Med has shown her journey from the start of her pregnancy throughout Season 11. It will be interesting to see if she goes into labor during the season finale, especially with a major crisis expected. However, it’s likely she won’t be actively involved in the field during the upcoming One Chicago crossover event.

Wearing a different outfit is actually changing how Jessy Schram physically performs on set of the medical drama, as she’s had to adjust her movements while filming. She shared that:
As a movie buff, I’ve noticed this strange thing when we use those motion capture suits – even the lighter ones we use most of the time. It totally changes how I move! I find myself sitting differently, walking differently, and even unconsciously sticking my stomach out because my lower back starts to ache. It’s like my body is reacting to something that isn’t really there, and it’s pretty wild.
You know, it got me thinking – does wearing a really convincing costume actually change how an actor moves? I was watching this actress, Hannah, and she’s playing a pregnant character. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if her back was killing her after filming the latest episode, because she was on her feet practically the whole time. She was talking about…
As soon as I put on the jumpsuit, my body starts reacting as if I’m actually pregnant – it’s a strange sympathetic response. Even though the jumpsuit isn’t heavy, I’m experiencing what feels like a placebo pregnancy.
Don’t miss the latest episode of Chicago Fire featuring Hannah, airing Wednesday, February 4th at 8 p.m. ET, before the show takes a break for the 2026 Winter Olympics. It’s been tough watching Hannah struggle, and we’re hoping she finds some support soon. On a lighter note, Jessy Schram had fun reminiscing about wearing a fake baby bump back in Season 11!
