At IEM Cologne 2023, we celebrated everything related to CS:GO. It was the grand finale for the classic game in a large stadium. However, we’ve now moved into the CS2 era. m0NESY, donk, and ZywOo are leading the charge, and they all aim to claim victory at IEM Cologne 2024 following their return from the player break.

At IEM Cologne 2024, there will be a total of 24 teams taking part. The majority of these teams will first participate in the preliminary rounds, known as the play-in stage. However, eight teams have already earned direct access to the main event. Here’s the complete list of all participating teams for IEM Cologne 2024.

As a gamer, I’m super hyped about the IEM Cologne 2024! This epic tournament has three phases: the Play-In, the Group, and the Playoffs. The Play-In is like the last chance saloon for teams to make it to the big leagues, the Group Stage. Eight teams have already got their tickets straight to the Group Stage and skip the Play-In altogether. The real action begins there!

As an enthusiastic spectator, I’m excited about the Play-In Stage where every initial match is a single game showdown, providing a thrilling start! However, as we move forward, it’s a best-of-three series to guarantee fairness for all participating teams. The stage begins with sixteen teams, but only eight will make it past and advance further.

In the Group Stage, which follows the Play-In Stage and includes these top eight teams plus those already qualified, every match is a best-of-three series. The victorious teams from the Group Stage move on to the Semifinals, while winners become high seeds in the Quarterfinals and losers enter as low seeds.

During the Playoffs, teams and players get to witness the Lanxess Arena at its peak. Known as the Cathedral of Counter-Strike, this venue has been the stage for some unforgettable CS:GO games. The final match of 2022 between NaVi and FaZe Clan is often cited as one of the greatest CS:GO matches ever played. Now, it’s CS2’s turn to create their own history in this hallowed ground. In the Playoffs, a single-elimination tournament takes place. Each match consists of three best-of-three series, except for the best-of-five Grand Finals.
