In the category of Exceptional Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Jennifer Aniston (The Morning Show), Carrie Coon (The Gilded Age), Maya Erskine (Mr. & Mrs. Smith), Ana Sawai (Shogun), Imelda Stanton (The Crown), and Reese Witherspoon (again for The Morning Show) were all recognized.
2022’s Distinguished Female Lead Actresses in Comedy Series were: Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary), Ayo Edebiri (The Bear), Selena Gomez (Only Murders In The Building), Maya Rudolph (Loot), Jean Smart (hacks), and Kristen Wiig (Palm Royale).
The contenders for Exceptional Reality Competition Series were given to The Amazing Race, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Top Chef, The Traitors, and The Voice.
This year’s ceremony will take place less than a year after the 75th edition of the show.
The event was postponed from its original scheduled date in September 2023, pushed back to January, as a result of the writers’ and actors’ strikes.
The trio consisting of Emmy Award winners Jesse Collins and Dionne Harmon, alongside Emmy nominee Jeannae Rouzan-Clay from Jesse Collins Entertainment, will once again take on their role as executive producers for the 76th Emmy Awards ceremony.
This marks their second consecutive year as producers of television’s biggest night.
The 2024 Emmys ceremony airs live on Sunday, Sept. 15, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
It will also be available to stream the next day on Hulu.
