Good news for fans of Luther! A new movie featuring the straightforward detective is on its way. Plus, those who missed Alice Morgan in the 2023 film, Luther: The Fallen Sun, will be happy to know she’ll be returning in this new installment.

Ruth Wilson is officially returning to her popular role when the movie becomes available on Netflix. Production is expected to begin at the start of next year, though the film doesn’t have a title yet.

Netflix says a string of shocking, unpredictable murders is plaguing London, and Luther is secretly brought back to investigate. However, he faces a dangerous situation as it seems many people want him gone, making it difficult to protect the city.

Even though the show concluded with a dramatic finale, creator Jed Mercurio has suggested that Idris Elba might reprise his role as Luther, telling the Radio Times that there’s a very good chance we haven’t seen the last of the character.
