I’m so excited that Idris Elba’s fantastic British drama, *Second Coming*, is now available to stream in the UK! It’s a really gripping movie from 2014 about a couple, Jackie and Mark, whose world gets completely shaken up when something seemingly miraculous happens to them.
Jackie was confused when she found out she was pregnant. She and Mark hadn’t been intimate for some time, and their relationship had become somewhat stuck.
Jackie is shocked by the recent developments, knowing she hasn’t done anything wrong. However, when Mark finds out about the baby, he has trouble accepting her side of the story – or what little she’s saying.

Is there more to this miracle pregnancy than meets the eye?
You can now watch *Second Coming* for free on Channel 4’s streaming service in the UK. The film features Idris Elba and Nadine Marshall as a married couple, with Kai Francis Lewis playing their son, JJ, and Nicola Walker as their counsellor.

Debbie Tucker Green wrote and directed *Second Coming*, which has received a 79% rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 24 reviews. Critics have highlighted the film’s distinctive and moving story, and particularly praised the performances of the main actors.
According to *Variety*, Tucker Green isn’t afraid to challenge viewers, and though her work can sometimes be overly atmospheric and indirect, it’s clear she has a truly original creative vision.

Both *The Times* and *Empire Magazine* praised the film. *The Times* called it a mysterious and subtly powerful story, and *Empire Magazine* celebrated it as a moving drama, marking the debut of a promising new British filmmaker.
According to *The Guardian*, Tucker Green’s film isn’t so much a story as a thoughtful exploration of how pregnancy transforms people’s lives, and the mix of hope, fear, and worry that comes with having a child.
Young Francis Lewis skillfully suggests JJ’s anxieties about someone coming between him and his partner, and Elba powerfully portrays the frustrating and angry feelings of a husband who feels excluded from his partner’s emotional life.
Second Coming is available to stream on Channel 4.
