Iconic soap star suffers career blow as BBC 2 axe six-part comedy drama after just ONE series following extremely low ratings
As a lifestyle expert with years of experience in the entertainment industry, I must say that the cancellation of Henpocalypse!, despite its unique premise and Danny Dyer’s captivating performance, seems like a missed opportunity. The show’s concept was intriguing, and the combination of humor and an apocalyptic backdrop could have appealed to a broader audience.
BBC Two has decided to cancel a comedy series that showcased a prominent soap actor due to significant drops in viewership.
The one-season TV show “Henpocalypse!” featuring Danny Dyer in an outstanding guest appearance has been discontinued.
The show saw a group of women on a hen do when an apocalyptic pandemic strikes.
Although close to a million viewers watched the 10 pm program during its debut last year, viewer retention proved elusive.
A source told The Sun: ‘It just didn’t get the audience figures to justify it returning.’

In a series of surreal scenarios, the sextet observed Danny, who was depicted in various instances, even dressed as a charmingly seductive knight.
Caroline Moran, the creator, disclosed that she penned Danny’s role in her script before he was aware that the project was underway.
She said: ‘There’s only one Danny Dyer. He’s fantastic.
‘He was everything and more than I could’ve hoped for.
I sent him an email, exclaiming, saying, “You’re incredible, practically priceless – care to respond?” He seemed enthusiastic about the idea.
Following Danny’s statement, he expressed his disappointment that individuals from the working class are not afforded the same opportunities to shine on stage and screen as their more privileged counterparts, often referred to as ‘elite’ or ‘high-society’ actors.
The actor most recognized for portraying Mick Carter, the pub landlord in EastEnders, recently stated that children living on public housing estates should receive priority attention now that the Labour Party has taken control.
As a storyteller who has graced both the silver screen and the grand stages of the West End and Broadway, I have been fortunate to live a life that is as diverse as it is fulfilling. My roles in movies such as Human Traffic and Mean Machine have allowed me to delve into the complexities of human nature, while my performances in two of Harold Pinter’s plays have given me a deeper appreciation for the power of words and the nuances they can convey.

Just last month, Danny pointed out a significant gap or divide between the elite and the majority of the nation.
He said: ‘The new government must start addressing the lack of working-class people in the arts.
‘It’s vital we give young kids from council estates opportunities to make something of their lives.
‘Never has there been more of a disconnect between the elite and everyone else.
‘It’s a f***ing disgrace.’
It’s not the first time Danny has been outspoken about his political views.
2018 saw me, being an ardent fan, venting my frustration towards David Cameron by labeling him a “buffoon” regarding the Brexit issue. I voiced my displeasure that he was enjoying his time in France, with his feet up, post his resignation as Prime Minister.
