Iconic rock band struggle to sell tickets for UK tour after headlining Glastonbury 2023
As a long-time fan of Guns N’ Roses and having attended several concerts throughout my years, I was genuinely excited to hear about their upcoming tour in the UK. However, the recent news about Slash’s stepdaughter Lucy-Bleu Knight’s passing has cast a heavy shadow over the band’s return.
Losing someone close is never easy, and my heart goes out to Slash, his family, and Lucy’s loved ones during this difficult time. As someone who has lost a loved one myself, I can only imagine the pain they must be feeling right now. It’s essential to give them space and privacy as they grieve and process their loss.
In times like these, we are reminded of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment with our loved ones. Music has always been a powerful healer for me, and I hope that Slash finds solace in it during this challenging period.
On a lighter note, I wonder if Lucy-Bleu would have been one of those fans who’d be rocking out at the Guns N’ Roses concert with her friends? Perhaps she’d even be the one screaming for “Sweet Child o’ Mine” at the top of her lungs. Rest in peace, Lucy-Bleu, and may your spirit continue to inspire and bring joy to those who knew you.
Legendary rock group Guns N’ Roses allegedly face difficulties selling tour tickets in the UK, following their headlining performance at last year’s Glastonbury Festival.
In early December, the musicians behind the famous song “Paradise City” unveiled plans for their 2025 European and Middle Eastern tour. Interestingly, this tour will only include two stops within the United Kingdom: London and Birmingham.
The band, known for their sparse performance schedule in the UK, has only recently graced British stages, with their last non-festival performances happening in England as far back as 2022. During this period, they played two nights at Tottenham as part of their We’re F’N’ Back! Tour.
Nevertheless, although these rockers are incredibly popular, it seems they’re encountering trouble filling their venues, as evidenced by the fact that numerous tickets, even premium ones, remain unsold, as reported by The Metro.
On December 13, tickets became available for the concerts taking place during the European tour’s 24-date segment, which included performances at London’s Wembley Stadium and Birmingham’s Villa Park.
Contrarily, it is announced weeks afterward that numerous seats remain vacant across all sections of the stadiums, even in the exclusive Gold Circle VIP zones and hospitality offerings.
Ever since tickets became available for purchase, some enthusiasts have been venting their frustration over ticket costs on a platform previously known as Twitter.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I must admit that I’ve found myself in a similar predicament. When a friend scores us coveted Guns N’ Roses tickets for Villa Park, the excitement can be tainted by the hefty price tag – £100 for the least expensive seats feels a bit steep, don’t you agree?
‘See Guns n Roses tickets are real value for money …… Not’
In my situation, Guns N’ Roses are performing, which I’m quite excited about since I love rock music. However, I won’t be attending due to the sky-high ticket prices.
Ticket prices start from approximately £89, but VIP deals can reach a high of £935 per person; however, these costs do not cover the meet-and-greet experience.
One enthusiast posted a picture on social media, showcasing many empty seats remaining, fully five days after ticket sales began. This could be seen as an indication of ‘excessive pricing’ or ‘profit-seeking behavior’.
As a die-hard fan who’s been attending concerts for decades, I truly hope this latest release is a much-needed boost against ticket inflation. If only they had priced it reasonably, I’d wager my years of concert-going that it would have already sold out in no time!
Nevertheless, a large number of enthusiastic fans have swiftly purchased tickets and expressed delight as they secured tickets for their beloved band’s concert.
TopMob have contacted representatives of Guns N’ Roses for comment.
Although sales for tickets have been low thus far, there is still ample time, as the Sweet Child O’ Mine band doesn’t start their performance until May when they will debut in Saudi Arabia, marking the beginning of their tour.
As your trusted lifestyle guide, I embark on an exciting journey that takes me through Turkey, Spain, Italy, and Germany, culminating in the United Kingdom for a couple of engagements. Then, my travels continue to Denmark.
Months have elapsed since the announcement of Guns N’ Roses legend Slash, regarding the unfortunate passing of his cherished stepdaughter, Lucy-Bleu Knight, at the age of 25.
The renowned guitarist, aged 59, postponed four shows from his Solo S.E.R.P.E.N.T Tour due to the heartbreaking loss he experienced in July.
On Monday morning, Slash revealed the tragic news through an Instagram post that his exceptionally gifted stepdaughter had passed away.
Lucy-Bleu Knight (born December 6, 1998), cherished daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, sister of Scarlet Knight, and stepsister of London and Cash Hudson, sadly passed away in peaceful surroundings in Los Angeles, California on July 19, 2024.
As an ardent admirer, I’d say that Lucy-Bleu was an exceptionally gifted creative spirit, a visionary filled with passion, and a captivating, delightful, and sugary-sweet essence of kindness.
Let’s respect their need for seclusion now, and try to limit the online discussions about their situation since they are dealing with an extremely painful loss and need space to mourn.
The cause of Lucy’s death remains unknown.
In 1989, Mark Knight initially dated Meegan Hodges, Lucy’s mom. However, they parted ways for a while and later reconnected in the year 2015. It is worth mentioning that Meegan and Mark shared their daughter, Lucy, who sadly passed away.
I tried to maintain the original meaning while making it more conversational and less technical.
Meegan also shared the same statement on her Instagram, penning: ‘I love you’
Lucy had approximately 35,000 followers on Instagram and is said to be employed at Electric Lady Management, which serves as the talent division of a recording studio.
After three hours, Lucy uploaded a selfie and a caption to her Instagram, which had been sparked by Slash’s announcement.)
If I unintentionally made you feel left out, exerted control or manipulation over you, advised you to give up your job while I was financially backed by my parents, or overwhelmed you with excessive positivity that masked genuine problems – I sincerely apologize for any distress caused.
‘Numerous lost chances and unmade connections stemming from an overly large ego, timid spirit, and apprehension about showing vulnerability. I hope my soul can grow past these flaws in me, improving on my performance as Lucy-Bleu. Farewell.’
TopMob have contacted Slash’s representatives for a comment at the time.
