Iconic Married At First Sight filming location in Byron Bay with mineral pool and macadamia farm goes on the market for $15m

As a seasoned traveler and enthusiast of unique accommodations, I can confidently say that this ‘Hinterland House’ in Byron Bay is nothing short of extraordinary. Having traversed the globe and stayed in numerous luxurious lodgings, it’s rare to find a place that so beautifully blends history, elegance, and modern comfort.

In simple terms, the breathtaking mansion in Byron Bay that was used as a venue for the couples’ getaway on Married at First Sight 2024 has now been put up for sale with an asking price of $15 million.

Located among thick vegetation, this old-fashioned residence, often referred to as Hinterland House, boasts a total of eight bedrooms and six baths.

Spanning over 7.6 hectares, this immaculately maintained estate showcases traditional Federation architectural elements such as expansive verandas, high ceilings, and ornate stained glass features.

As reported by The Byron Coast Times, Brisbane entrepreneur Mitch Carter purchased the historic property back in 2016.

Later on, he transformed the old farmstead into a charming vacation retreat that maintains its authentic charm.

This grand venue, capable of accommodating 16 people, is often utilized for fashion photo sessions and nuptials.

Additionally, it was the location where MAFS bride Lucinda Light tried to guide a yoga practice during the dating series earlier in the year.

Carter shared with the publication that being part of Married at First Sight provided significant publicity for our property, and we’ve managed to build up a decent fan base on social media.

 He said he was selling up to concentrate on his business interests in Brisbane. 

Previously, it had been accessible only to those ready to pay a substantial $5,000 per night for a minimum duration of 3 nights.

Nestled within the countryside near Bangalow, approximately 12 kilometers from vibrant Byron Bay, the initial estate house dates back to 1906 and stands on a sprawling 240-hectare dairy farm.

For four long years, brick by painstakingly crafted brick, I labored to erect my magnificent abode – a testament to my unyielding passion for grandeur. With ceilings soaring an impressive four meters high, this masterpiece is adorned with opulent chandeliers and intricately designed leadlight windows. The floors beneath my feet are a work of art themselves, crafted from exquisite parquetry. And what a view I have – a wraparound verandah that offers me a panorama of the world outside, day in and day out.

In each of the home’s four bedrooms, there’s an opulent private bathroom, while French doors and fireplaces made of wood create a charming, vintage European ambiance in the common living spaces.

Another major highlight is the stunning main dining room.

The chef’s kitchen, meanwhile, features stone bench tops and a walk-in pantry. 

In addition, there are two separate ‘Queenslander’ cottages next to the main house, each boasting their own private areas for entertainment or relaxation. These spaces are specifically designed for individual enjoyment.

As a devoted enthusiast, I can’t help but share some notable features that caught my attention. Among them are a cozy fire pit, beautifully maintained formal gardens, and a soothing heated mineral swimming pool. Additionally, a thriving macadamia orchard adds a unique charm to the overall experience.
