As a dedicated fan of EastEnders, I can hardly contain my excitement! With Louisa Lytton, otherwise known as Ruby Allen, set to return after three long years, it feels like a piece of Walford’s history is coming home.

An EastEnders legend is soon set to make a huge return three years after quitting the soap.

35-year-old Louisa Lytton, famously recognized as Ruby Allen from Albert Square, is gearing up for an unexpected comeback on BBC One’s soap opera.

Initially, the actress made her screen debut playing the troubled runaway character, Ruby Allen, on EastEnders in 2005, frequently seen near Albert Square alongside characters such as Stacey Slater.

Afterward, she made an appearance on a compact television screen in shows like The Bill, Casualty, and Murdoch Mysteries, as well as stage performances including Grease.

In 2018 she returned to her EastEnders role, almost 12 years after she departed the BBC One Soap.

Previously, the audience last witnessed Ruby Allen departing from Walford around November 2021, following her announcement that she was carrying Martin Fowler’s (played by James Bye) baby.

I couldn’t accept it when I learned that Ruby had been spreading falsehoods, resulting in the unjust incarceration of Stacey (Lacey Turner).

Even though there’s doubt about whether Ruby truly revealed she was pregnant, her upcoming return will undoubtedly stir up turmoil for Martin and Stacey, as they believed she was gone for good.

Upon her recent return, Louisa Lytton expressed her excitement about being invited back to The Square again, where she plans to share insights into Ruby’s experiences over the past three years while she was away from Walford.

“For as long as I can remember, I’ve found great joy in working with Ruby because it keeps things exciting and I eagerly anticipate sharing its potential with others.”

Chris Clenshaw, the Executive Producer expressed his pleasure at having Louisa Lytton reprise her character as Ruby Allen once more.

Martin and Stacey were left with several unresolved queries following Ruby’s exit from Walford. Her anticipated comeback is likely to stir up a lot of dramatic events for her character and everyone connected to the story.
