Okay, so I just found out where I can stream The Good Liar – that crime thriller with Ian McKellen and Helen Mirren! Honestly, I’d heard it was really good, a proper twisty story, and with those two acting legends, it’s definitely going on my list for a weekend binge. I’m excited to check it out!

The movie is based on Nicholas Searle’s 2015 novel and stars Ian McKellen as Roy Courtnay, a professional con man. He plans to swindle a rich widow named Betty McLeish, played by Helen Mirren, but the scheme turns out to be more complicated than he expected.

The crime thriller, directed by Bill Condon and written by Jeffrey Hatcher, is now streaming on HBO Max in the UK, which recently launched in the region.

Man, this movie is tough to talk about! It throws so much at you, it’s honestly one of the most all-over-the-place films I’ve ever seen. I kept waiting for the big twist, but it just kept twisting! It wasn’t just one, there were a bunch of them!
