I went on Dragons’ Den and discovered a bombshell family secret – I thought I was delusional at first but it changed my life forever

Oh my goodness, the story of Zoe Chapman is nothing short of extraordinary! As an obsessed fan, I find myself deeply moved by her resilience and determination. Previously, at the age of 39, Zoe Chapman showcased her innovative product Kiddiwhizz in Dragons’ Den, aiming to secure a £50,000 investment for it – a portable, unisex children’s toilet.

While performing on stage, it was shared that Zoe conceived the idea for the invention during a challenging period in her life, as she simultaneously cared for her young son and her ailing father who needed palliative care.

Both required a handheld portable toilet and despite her best efforts, she struggled to find one. 

During that period, Zoe found herself so occupied that she couldn’t develop the product on her own. But years down the line, after her father passed away and just before the world went into lockdown in 2020 due to a global pandemic, she underwent spinal surgery, which made her ponder about what she had always wanted to accomplish.

2021 saw Zoe designing a compact, travel-friendly toilet, which soon earned her numerous accolades for its impressive innovation.

2022 saw her captivating Dragons’ Den producers with her compelling business narrative, leading them to encourage her to submit an application for their program.

2023 saw her making an appearance on the program. The subsequent chain of incidents transformed her life irrevocably.

To The Independent, Zoe reminisced about the time following her guest spot, acknowledging that the program not only rescued her business but also transformed everything positively for her.

She mentioned that the program went live earlier in the year, which was around the time she began giving interviews. Later, a community for solo mothers named Frolo requested her to pen down a blog post about her personal experiences.

Her blog post gained a lot of attention, and a woman named Jess immediately emailed Zoe something that left the single mum wondering if she was ‘delusional’. 

In her email, Jess mentioned that although it might seem unusual, she has come across your story and believes that the same man could be the father of both you and her children.

At age 27, the businesswoman shared with a magazine that she got pregnant by a man she thought was treating her respectfully at first. However, he later exhibited controlling and overly possessive behavior.

She said after seeing the ‘red flags’ she left the man but was already pregnant with his child.

Zoe disclosed to the media that the man asked her to terminate her pregnancy, but she desired to have a child, leading them to eventually part ways. He played no role in raising her son.
