I was in I’m A Celeb and it’s worse than you think! Poor Carol Vorderman was forced to listen to me poo and everybody stunk, reveals Jordan Banjo
As I delve into the captivating world of Jordan Banjo, the energetic and charismatic dancer from Diversity, I am left in awe of his resilience and adaptability. His journey on I’m A Celebrity has been nothing short of extraordinary, as he braved the jungle, its critters, and the emotional rollercoaster that comes with being away from family and friends.
As a seasoned lifestyle enthusiast, let me share an exclusive insider’s perspective on the reality behind the scenes of “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” Camp life can be far more challenging than it appears to viewers at home. Jordan Banjo, one of this year’s campmates, has bravely opened up about the jungle’s hidden truths, exclusively to TopMob.
31-year-old actor from “Diversity,” who featured in the 2016 series and the most recent edition of “all stars” last year, reminisced about several incidents he’d prefer to forget, such as an embarrassing one where Carol Vorderman had to endure him making a bodily function sound.
Jordan mentioned that the size of the camp would shock viewers, providing the celebrities with minimal seclusion.
As a passionate fan of SKY’s innovative voice command feature, I find myself in a peculiar situation: It’s quite awkward when nature calls and Carol Vorderman is standing nearby, brushing her teeth, but one must learn to roll with the punches.
‘You have the bathroom, but on the other side of the closed door, people are brushing their teeth. It’s less than ideal.’
Jordan too recalled that everyone had an overwhelming odor due to the Bushtucker Trials and inadequate cleaning options. He noted that the only thing that made them bearable was the campfire, as it sometimes concealed the smell on occasion.
I’ve never felt more grateful for smelling like a campfire throughout my entire life. The ordeals I’ve been through – words cannot describe how tough they were, and that was even before we began the challenge!
Contrary to popular belief that hunger is the biggest challenge in jungle life, Jordan explained it was actually boredom: ‘You’re mostly just waiting there, and if you’re not participating in tasks, you might watch about 45 minutes of a show, with Ant and Dec taking up half of that time chatting and showing the trial.’
If I don’t have a trial or chores to attend to on that specific day, I will be spending the entire time in that particular spot, as there isn’t much to do and it can get quite dull.
Option A: Instead of suggesting trials to escape the camp, it feels strange, but you’re thinking about it. It’s like I’m craving for something unusual to liven up my days here, almost as if locking me in a snake-filled tank would help alleviate the boredom.
Jordan and his sibling Ashley are currently collaborating with Sky, who have just unveiled the most popular catchphrases, quotes, and memes from an exceptional TV year. Among these was Tony Bellew’s famous line, “I’m The Daddy,” which he uttered on I’m A Celebrity.
The broadcaster is incorporating these memorable phrases from popular shows into the vocabulary of Sky TV’s voice command system. This means you can now effortlessly access your favorite programs and re-experience classic moments with ease.
To give these new commands a spin, just speak aloud “Be honest, dear viewer” or “Give it to me!” into your Sky Glass or Sky Stream remote. These voice commands can also be found in famous TV phrases that continue to resonate in our daily lives, such as “Here’s one I prepared earlier (Blue Peter)”, “I’ve got a text (Love Island)”, and “Winter is Coming (Game of Thrones)”.
Recent study conducted by Sky TV uncovers the most frequently used TV catchphrases from the past year that have seeped into common language and are now regularly used in daily discussions.
In a poll among television enthusiasts, “Gladiators Ready” emerged as the favorite TV catchphrase of the past year, chosen by almost one-fifth of respondents. The phrase “I Am a Faithful” from “Traitors” followed closely behind in second place.
‘Sent from an iPhone’: This message is third in popularity, according to a study that examined classic quotes from television shows. Some of the top-rated phrases included “Lovely jubbly” from Only Fools and Horses, “Get outta my pub” from Eastenders, and “How you doin’?” from Friends, all of which seem to strike a chord with British viewers.
Ben Case, Managing Director at Sky TV says: ‘As we wrap up an incredible year in television, we’re thrilled to celebrate some of today’s most iconic TV phrases by integrating them into our Sky TV voice control glossary’.
Ashley and Jordan skillfully emphasize the phrases that deeply connect with fans, infusing their work with a personal touch. Additionally, we’re thrilled to incorporate timeless favorites that consistently entice audiences to watch the most cherished television programs, effectively encapsulating the spirit of television fandom.
2016 saw Jordan placing ninth, trailing behind Carol. However, reflecting on his initial jungle experience, he described it as encountering an entirely new version of himself.
After leaving, he remarked: “Reflecting on the time I was away for such a prolonged period, I honestly can’t recall how I managed to pull it off!
‘That’s a different person!’.
As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but delve into the harrowing experiences of a task that sent shivers down my spine – the Tomb Of Torment. This labyrinthine challenge plunged me into pitch-black darkness, teeming with 120,000 relentless creatures swarming over me! I was surrounded by familiar faces like Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, ex-Strictly professional Ola Jordan, and Olympic gold medal winner Sam Quek. It was a heart-stopping ordeal, one that still sends a shiver down my spine when I recall it.
Instead, it wasn’t the small animals that caused him the most difficulty; rather, he confessed, ‘I have scars on my neck from when the rats scratched me!’.
As a lifestyle expert, I must admit that his exceptional performance in the tasks has not sparked a desire within my fellow “Diversity” colleague Perri to join in, as she humorously put it: “I’d rather keep my distance!
On the show “I’m A Celebrity,” Jordan was the fourth well-known personality to get dismissed. As soon as he stepped out of the jungle, he characterized his experience as being extremely overwhelming.
In a chat with Ant and Dec during his farewell interview, he shared: “The entire journey has been incredibly intense. Stepping onto that bridge just feels unreal!
‘Saying bye, I can’t believe it… they look so depressed without me.’
