I Tried Watching Thursday Night Football’s Prime Vision, And I Had To Turn It Off

I’m a big NFL fan, and every week I start watching football on Thursdays with my Amazon Prime subscription. I’ve been impressed with how much better the broadcast quality has become recently, so I was really excited when Amazon announced a new way to watch the first game of the week with a different viewing option.

Several networks have experimented with different ways to broadcast NFL games, like CBS using characters from *SpongeBob SquarePants* or inviting celebrities as commentators to appeal to viewers who aren’t hardcore fans. Prime Vision aimed to offer a more in-depth look at the game’s statistics, but unfortunately, I didn’t find it very engaging and had to switch channels.

I Was Excited For Prime Vision, Then I Got Motion Sickness

As a football fan who doesn’t deeply analyze the game, Amazon’s Prime Vision stream sounded amazing. Instead of listening to the Manning brothers chat with celebrities, it offered an AI-powered view of the game, showing things like player routes and likely defensive moves. For a short time, it felt like watching a real-life version of the Madden video game.

I’ve attempted to watch the stream on two occasions, but quickly felt motion sick – within just a few minutes each time. This is unusual for me, as I only ever get motion sickness when reading in a moving car. Since it happened twice, I’m curious to know if anyone else has experienced this while watching the stream.

I Do Appreciate Thursday Night Football’s Attempt To Evolve The NFL Experience

Even though I personally haven’t been able to fully get into it for reasons I can’t quite put my finger on, I appreciate that *Thursday Night Football* is innovating and trying new things. As a fan who’s becoming more interested in the deeper stats and analytics of football, features like Prime Vision can only help the average viewer become more knowledgeable about the game.

More On The NFL

A funny moment was caught on camera showing Los Angeles Chargers players reacting to the surprise appearance of Judge Judy at their game. They were overheard commenting on how petite she is.

For years, NFL fans have often just repeated the opinions of commentators like Troy Aikman. It would be great to have more options for watching games that let viewers form their own opinions. But will this new approach actually be successful?

Look, I’ve been watching movies and sports for years, and honestly, it always comes back to the game itself. Football just has a hold on people. But I’m actually pretty optimistic about all these new ways they’re trying to show it. Even if not everything sticks, I think we’ll end up with some really cool innovations that’ll become standard on TV. And hey, while I enjoy seeing Taylor Swift at the games as much as the next person, I’m ready for some new angles and ways to experience the action on the field!

Every Thursday during the NFL season, you can watch football on Prime Video. It features exciting games to start off each week. If you have an Amazon Prime subscription, it’s worth checking out – just be aware that the Prime Vision experience can be a bit tricky!
