“I quit CS2 Forever…” – Origin of CS2’s latest copypasta

As a seasoned CS veteran who’s witnessed the rise and fall of numerous iterations, I must say, this “Quit CS2 Forever” saga has got me chuckling. I’ve been through the trials and tribulations of CS1.6, Source, GO, and now CS2, so I know a thing or two about the ebbs and flows of this game.

Atleast “the community is amazing”

It appears that a new trend is circulating on the CS2 Twitter feed today, with numerous organizations and influential individuals posting messages indicating they’ve “Parted ways permanently with CS2.” Accompanying these posts are screenshots of the game being removed. The question arises: Where did this phrase originate, and which parties have truly severed ties with CS2 forever?

After many years of dedication and enjoyment, I’ve decided to call it quits with CS2. The last few years have been a fantastic journey, and I owe it all to this incredible community that has supported me every step of the way. However, I can’t sugarcoat it: CS2 is not what it used to be for me anymore. It’s like an old friend who’s grown distant, and despite our shared history, we simply don’t connect in the same way as before.

Origin of the I Quit CS2 Copypasta

Today, I stumbled upon a tweet from my favorite Counter-Strike YouTuber that quickly caught fire within our gaming community. The tweet, complete with an updated CS2 logo, was shared and re-shared like wildfire, thanks in part to another popular figure in the scene, Launders, who also weighed in on it. This viral message has now become a meme among us Counter-Strike gamers, known as the “copypasta”.

Is “dima_wallbangs” actually quitting CS2?

Given Dima’s typically humorous social media posts, people assumed his latest tweet was a jest. The YouTuber was streaming on Twitch at the time and carried on playing for several hours afterward, indicating he wasn’t seriously quitting the game. However, his tweet has ignited activity among the CS2 Content Creators.

Everyone that has “Quit CS2” so far

Following the original social media post, numerous individuals came up with their unique interpretations. Among them, Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç, a former Eternal Fire player, stood out for his creativity by translating the post into Turkish for his tweet. It didn’t take long before organizations joined in on the fun, and G2 Esports, renowned for their memes, took the lead. Other notable participants included Heroic and CS2 leak source Ozzny.

Copypasta covering real CS2 Concerns?

Just as many jokes contain an element of reality, so too does this post. Although CS2 has experienced a more seamless launch than its predecessors, it’s hard to deny that for many gamers, the game isn’t quite as refined as the latter stages of CS:GO. This topic was among the points debated in the latest Snake and Banter podcast by Last Free Nation.

Despite occasional hiccups such as yesterday’s release of a new float bug, which seems to be part of an effort to address jumping issues, Valve continues to roll out updates regularly to polish their work. They promptly addressed the bug with a patch, but it’s important to note that this is only a temporary fix. There’s still room for improvement before Counter-Strike 2 can be declared the smoothest version of the game in the long run.
