I Know What You Did Last Summer has a credit scene fans ‘won’t want to miss’

If you’re planning to catch the new installment of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” at the movies this week, don’t forget to stay till the final credits roll!

In 28 years, I find myself back in the virtual world, stepping into the shoes of Julie James and Ray Bronson, characters once played by Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr in the original movie. Quite a trip down memory lane!

In this latest turn of events, a fresh menace armed with a hook is at large, targeting a circle of five companions who harbor a lethal secret.

As “The Fisherman” starts causing trouble for the group, they discover that a similar horror had occurred in the past – specifically, the 1997 Southport Massacre. In their quest for aid and understanding, they reach out to the two individuals who survived that tragic event.

At the movie’s debut, Hewitt spoke with Extra and provided a significant hint to enthusiasts that would prevent them from leaving the theater as soon as the credits begin.

“I’m going to get killed for saying this, but don’t miss the credits,” she teased.

This event might turn out to be an exciting surprise, it could lead to something dramatic, or it could simply be a lot of fun – whatever the case may be, make sure you don’t miss it!

The movie “I Know What You Did Last Summer” was not only directed but also co-written by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, a screenwriter who previously collaborated with Taika Waititi on the script for “Thor: Love and Thunder”.

In addition to Hewitt and Prinze Jr., the sequel also features actors such as Madelyn Cline from “Outer Banks”, Sarah Pidgeon from “The Wilds”, Tyriq Withers of “Legacies”, Jonah Hauer-King who played The Little Mermaid’s prince, and Chase Sui Wonders, known for her role in “The Studio”.

Prior to the film’s premiere, Robinson hinted to the audience that the upcoming movie would be significantly more violent compared to its earlier version.

As a gamer, I noticed that each kill in this flick has a strategic approach, unlike the first one where it felt like he was just tracking down his targets and attacking them without much planning.

“There’s not a lot of gore or blood or violence in the first one. There certainly is in this one.”

I Know What You Did Last Summer hits cinemas on July 18.

The latest print issue from Digital Spy is out now! You can purchase the “Oasis – Live in ’25” magazine at your local newsstands or online for only £8.99.
