Now that fall is here, Hallmark is releasing a bunch of new movies! This year, they’re doing a Halloween version of their popular *Hall Out The Holly* series. But I’m most excited about *Haul Out The Halloween*, which will include references to the classic Disney Channel movie, *Halloweentown* – a childhood favorite of mine!
For many of us who grew up in the ’90s and early 2000s, the Disney Channel felt like a comforting tradition, much like Hallmark does for some. One movie that really stands out from that era is *Halloweentown*. I was excited to learn that Kimberly J. Brown, who played Marnie, and Daniel Kountz, who played Kal, are both returning for the new movie. Brown recently shared some details with Today about what to expect.
We had a fantastic time exploring a different take on Halloween this year. We’ve previously focused on the magical, witch and wizard aspects, so it was a lot of fun to play characters who love Shakespeare, history, and the spooky side of the holiday. It was truly a perfect experience for us.
Many fans were surprised to learn that Kimberly J. Brown and Daniel Kountz, who first worked together in *Kalabar’s Revenge* (a *Halloweentown* sequel), are actually married! Now, they’re teaming up again for a new Halloween-themed movie, playing a couple who love decorating for the holiday. The announcement was made in June, but I just discovered it now that spooky season is here!

What’s really special is that Lacey Chabert, the lead actress in the movie series and a Hallmark favorite, has been friends with Brown for years. She even attended Brown and Kountz’s wedding last year! Brown recently shared that she and Chabert have been close since childhood. After Brown and Kountz told everyone how much they loved the movies, Chabert learned about a new one being made and immediately asked them to be a part of it. Brown said they were thrilled, especially because they’d been fans of the series from the very beginning.

Okay, so if you’re looking to get into the Halloween spirit, all the *Halloweentown* movies are currently streaming on Disney+. As for the cost, Disney+ has a few options. You can start with their ad-supported plan for just $9.99 a month. If you prefer no ads, it’s $15.99 monthly, or you can save a bit by prepaying for the year at $159.99 – that’s about 16% off. Definitely a good option if you’re planning a spooky movie marathon!
Kimberly J. Brown first played Marnie at age 13 in a popular Disney Channel movie, which led to two sequels. She’s shared the story of how she and Joey Kountz became a couple, and surprisingly, it didn’t happen while filming *Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge*. According to Brown, they weren’t romantically interested in each other during the movie, and they didn’t speak for about ten years. However, when they worked together again on comedy sketches for her YouTube channel, they reconnected and fell in love. Now they’re married – it’s quite a story!
I’m really excited to see the stars of *Halloweentown* reunite in the new movie, *Haul Out The Halloween*, which will be released on October 11th.
