Spoilers for Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 lie ahead.
As we get to the end of the year’s shows on Disney+, I’ve been really enjoying the latest season of Star Wars: Visions. It’s another collection of amazing animated shorts, this time created by different Japanese studios. Honestly, almost every short feels like it deserves its own full series, and we know one is already happening with Star Wars: Visions Presents. But there’s one story in particular I’m hoping they’ll explore further with the new show – it really stood out to me!

There’s A Visions Story I Want To See More Of
At Star Wars Celebration this year, fans got a sneak peek at Visions Volume 3. The show Visions Presents was also announced, with each season promising a complete anime series. After watching the third season of Visions, I want to highlight “The Lost Ones,” created by Kinema Citrus and director Hitoshi Haga, as an episode with a lot of potential for great stories.
As a huge fan of the ‘Village Bride’ short, I was really excited to see where F’s story went in ‘The Lost Ones.’ It’s awesome to see her fully trained as a Jedi, especially after her fight with those bandits. This new short takes her to the planet Enoli, and let me tell you, it’s a mess – totally wrecked by some seriously harsh carbon freezing tech. Even Han Solo would be horrified! Thankfully, F teams up with some great new characters, like Ron, a freedom fighter who’s helping refugees escape the chaos. I especially loved Joona, a really thoughtful Besalisk, and little Leon, who’s just trying to make sense of everything. It’s a compelling group, and I’m eager to see what happens next!

Trouble begins when an Imperial Star Destroyer shows up searching for F, putting the refugees in danger and unexpectedly reuniting F with her Jedi Master, Shad-Rah, whom she believed had died long ago. Overall, this is a delightful story with a heartwarming conclusion that hints at future adventures. It would be fantastic to see F continue her journey with the refugees, perhaps even taking on the teaching role Joona mentioned. Hopefully, she might even discover and train a young person strong with the Force.

Disney+ offers a wide range of entertainment, including the animated series Star Wars: Visions and many other shows and movies from the Star Wars universe. A subscription starts at $11.99 per month with ads. You can watch without ads for $18.99 a month, or save 16% by paying $189.99 for a full year. See the deal here.
This episode introduces compelling characters, including the clever and caring Leon, and his friend, Theo, who is grieving the loss of his family due to carbon poisoning. Beyond the story itself, the animation is excellent, and Haga’s direction is truly skilled. If continued in Visions Presents, this story has the potential to deliver a season filled with the same action, humor, and emotional depth as the popular Star Wars Rebels.

Another Short Is Already Confirmed To Be Getting A Season In Visions Presents
As a huge Star Wars fan, I was thrilled to hear at Celebration that the story started in those two ‘Ninth Jedi’ shorts is what the first season of Visions Presents will be all about! Honestly, it’s a brilliant move – that narrative is just as strong as ‘The Lost Ones’ and deserves a whole season to unfold. And the newest short, ‘The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope,’? It’s already hinting at a really compelling and, I suspect, emotionally powerful story arc. I can’t wait to see where it goes!
I’m really looking forward to the next chapter in the “Ninth Jedi” story, but I also hope F’s journey isn’t over. It would be amazing to see her character brought to life in the live-action universe, though I know that’s probably unlikely. Still, I’m hoping it happens!
You can now watch all three volumes of Star Wars: Visions on Disney+. Plus, stay tuned for news about future Star Wars series and films.
