As a devoted fan who grew up with the unforgettable duo of Melanie and Martina Grant, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia upon learning about their latest career venture. The Fun House twins have swapped the limelight for pints at their local Wetherspoons in Ramsgate, Kent – a decision that, to me, seems like a perfect blend of their bubbly personalities and love for connecting with people.

Previously known for her role on Fun House, Melanie Grant has transitioned into a new profession and can now be found serving drinks at her local Wetherspoons pub.

Back in 1989, I was completely smitten by this former TV sensation, who was just 52 at the time, and her twin sister Martina. They skyrocketed to fame overnight, thanks to their hit show Fun House! It was all about two teams squaring off against each other, tackling a series of challenges that became infamous for their messiness. The prize was worth it, though, believe me!

As a devoted fan, I fondly recall the American television series that captivated audiences for a decade until its conclusion in 1999. Yet, the joy it brought me didn’t end there; it made a special comeback in 2015 with a one-time Fun House event, rekindling the spirit of our shared love for this iconic show.

Nowadays, Melanie mainly steered clear of the entertainment industry and currently holds a job at Wetherspoons in her native town, Ramsgate, Kent.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but resonate with Melanie, the radiant star who graced our screens on Fun House. It seems like fate has tailored this role for her, as she frequently encounters fans who recall her captivating performances – it feels like a match made in entertainment heaven!

She told The Sun that since the conclusion of Fun House, both Martina and herself have not frequently appeared on television.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve had the privilege of working in show business from time to time, yet it no longer consumes all my professional hours. In search of a steady income source, I found myself delving into new endeavors that cater to my financial needs.

Since I’m naturally inclined towards interacting with people and find it enjoyable, the prospect of the Wetherspoons job, which seemed to fit my preferences perfectly, caught my interest.

Melanie expresses her desire to reappear on TV sometime in the future. She mentions that if given the chance, she wouldn’t hesitate to participate in shows like Strictly Come Dancing or I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Martina, currently mother to 11-year-old Stanley (who has Down’s Syndrome) and 8-year-old Mabel alongside her husband Ben Freebury, shared with TopMob that we sometimes still encounter recognition in public places.

I’m around seven years older than my spouse, but he enjoyed watching the children’s show ‘Fun House’ back then. It seems somewhat peculiar to him that he once watched me on television, and now we share parenthood together.

She mentioned: “Dolly, my mother-in-law, assists in caring for the kids, and so does my mom. I consider myself fortunate because my work doesn’t keep me separated from them for too long.

The show featured ‘messy games’ involving grunge and a ‘fun kart’ Grand Prix in which teams of children pitched themselves against each other.

Martina mentioned that all of us are open to creating a fresh production. There will be various precautions regarding children and messy substances like gunge to address, but it seems feasible if we handle it properly.

After the conclusion of Fun House in December 1999, the twin sisters followed up with a hit album titled “ATT (A Twin Thing)” that achieved popularity in Japan.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve graced various television screens, with memorable appearances on shows like The Bill, Soccer AM, and This Morning.
