I Can’t Get Over How Matt Damon’s Daughter Mercilessly Roasted His And Ben Affleck’s The Rip Red Carpet Poses

Kids have a way of keeping you grounded, and Matt Damon and Ben Affleck experienced that firsthand while promoting their new Netflix movie, The Rip. At the film’s New York premiere, Damon’s daughter playfully teased him for what she thought were awkward poses on the red carpet.

You can see footage of Damon and Affleck posing similarly to how they are in the image below in a video uploaded by ET. To break it down, the Gone Girl actor is standing with his hands together right in front of him, and the Ocean’s Eleven actor is standing right next to him, with his hands at his side. Personally, I wouldn’t say this is awkward; it seems pretty normal to me. However, Damon’s 17-year-old daughter had other thoughts.

After the photoshoot, the child of the actor known for The Odyssey playfully but firmly criticized him. In the video immediately after the photos were taken, his daughter, Gia Damon, is heard saying to him:

Why were you standing like this?

While delivering that line, she playfully copied her dad’s signature pose, spreading her arms wide – you can see it in the video. Matt then mirrored the pose for her, which everyone found amusing.

The event felt like a true family gathering. Not only was The Rip spearheaded by two friends who’ve known each other their whole lives, but Damon’s entire family came out to show their support, including his wife, Luciana Damon, and their children, Gia Damon, Isabella Damon (19), and Stella Damon (15).

It was really heartwarming to see everyone together, and the playful teasing made the moment even more special. It’s not surprising, though – Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are known for jokingly ribbing each other all the time. It seems like good-natured teasing is just a family trait.

The two friends have teamed up for a new movie called The Rip, and it looks like a really enjoyable ride. This thriller features the writers of Good Will Hunting playing police officers who find a large sum of money hidden in a house. As the night goes on, they begin to distrust each other, and the situation quickly becomes very tense.

The film boasts a fantastic cast including Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, Sasha Calle, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Scott Adkins, and Kyle Chandler.

You can watch the movie the Damons were celebrating, The Rip, on Netflix starting January 16th. As for me, I’ll be curious if Matt Damon and his daughter talked about the photos, and if they’ll try to pose even better together at future red carpet events.
