After the announcement of a sequel, the members of the KPop group Huntr/x – the central act in the hit film KPop Demon Hunters – shared what they’re hoping to see in the next movie. The Netflix film features Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, who balance their careers as a KPop band with fighting demons. KPop Demon Hunters became a huge cultural sensation in the summer of 2025, setting several streaming records for Netflix.
Arden Cho, May Hong, and Ji-young Yoo provided the speaking voices for the characters, but the singing voices belong to the group Huntr/x, comprised of EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami. Huntr/x has performed together on shows like Saturday Night Live and is expected to appear in KPop Demon Hunters 2.
In a recent interview with Collider, Ami, Nuna, and EJAE shared what they’d like to see in a potential sequel. Nuna expressed her hope to see the characters travel to different cities, believing the first film resonated with audiences worldwide. She’d love to see that global connection continue, mirroring the way the movie sparked conversations with real-life events.
I’m really excited to see EJAE wants to keep showcasing Korean culture with KPop Demon Hunters. She’s hoping to include even more traditional elements like historical details, music, and food, which I think would be amazing! While Nuna and EJAE are focused on how the sequel can represent our culture, Ami is more interested in where the story itself will go, which is cool too.
As a huge fan, I was really hoping to learn more about how the team first came together – their origin story would be amazing! And honestly, if they don’t do a prequel showing that, I need Gwi-Ma to come back! Seriously, who’s going to be the big bad guy now that Huntr/x defeated the demon king? I’m dying to find out what happens next! The movie ended with Huntr/x winning, but now we’re left wondering who they’ll face in the sequel.

The members of Huntr/x recently spoke with Ash Crossan from ScreenRant about their hopes for KPop Demon Hunters 2. They all agreed that the movie should reveal the truth about Rumi’s parents.
The next installment of KPop Demon Hunters, no matter the story it tells, is expected to be a huge success when it comes out in 2029.
