Hunting Wives Confirms What Pastor Pete Did In the Series’ 6th Episode
In the sixth episode of “The Hunting Wives,” Pastor Pete’s actions were ultimately revealed. Portrayed by Paul Teal, Pastor Pete plays a pivotal role in the suspenseful crime narrative of the new Netflix thriller. As the town of Maple Brook starts investigating the death of a teenager named Abby (Madison Wolfe), Pastor Pete becomes increasingly significant to the unfolding mystery.
Teal’s cleric becomes entangled in the intricate plot of “The Hunting Wives,” as it emerges that he had multiple ties to Abby and those around her prior to her demise. Among these connections were a meeting with George Ferrier’s Brad (Abby’s teenage boyfriend harboring a hidden truth), during which he shared with the pastor that his girlfriend had undergone an abortion. Additionally, it is disclosed that Pete was one of Abby’s last contacts before she met her untimely end; however, this does not automatically implicate him as the shooter.
What Did Pastor Pete Do In the Hunting Wives?
In the TV series “The Hunting Wives,” just as with most characters, Pastor Pete portrayed by Paul Teal gets his turn under the spotlight of suspicion during the initial season. This suspenseful development unfolds across episodes 6 and 7, with speculations about a possible Season 2 already circulating.
It was Pete whom some people speculated might have been responsible for Abby’s death, as it was presumed that Abby was the girl George Ferrier’s Brad mentioned to the local pastor when he discussed his girlfriend having an abortion (although she wasn’t).
As it transpires, he wasn’t the culprit, but his reputation within the series still takes a hit.
Or
It appears someone else was responsible, yet this doesn’t mean he escapes the series without any damage to his standing.
In Episode 6, Pastor Pete finds himself right in the center of a whirlwind surrounding “The Hunting Wives” group. It kicks off when Deputy Walter Flynn of Hunter Emery starts to entertain doubts about whether the church could potentially be connected to the central murder case involving the deceased teenager on the show.
This finds Brittany Snow’s character, Sophie O’Neal, at Pete’s doorstep, accusing the local clergy member of being involved in Abby’s murder. Pete denies any involvement, but reveals that Abby was not blameless, as it seems she had undergone an abortion prior to her death.
Due to the rumored termination of Abby’s pregnancy, Pete felt compelled to act independently with the intention of helping her, which raises concerns in Sophie’s mind that, even if Pete didn’t harm Abby, he might be concealing a troubling truth about himself.
As the sixth episode of the show concludes, everything crumbles for Pete. After Sophie leaves, his focus shifts to Nina, a teenage friend of Abby’s who might have known about the secrets Abby was hiding before she passed away. Pursuing Nina, Pete resorts to kidnapping and drugging her.
The story continues in Episode 7 of the popular streaming thriller. With Nina gone missing and Pete apparently preparing to leave, the local law enforcement is zeroing in on the small-town pastor.
Following a short pursuit across town, Pete encounters Deputy Wanda Salazar, who is working with Karen Rodriguez, at Maple Brook’s edge. The police intended to interrogate the pastor, but they fail to do so as Pete, upon being told to exit his car, instead points a gun at himself and ends his life instantly.
In the truck that Pete was pulling behind his U-Haul, they found Nina, who was tied up and unable to speak, as well as the missing person, Krummell.
Following Pete’s demise, it comes to light that the pastor was nowhere near Abby when she was killed, as he was away from town on the very night of her murder. This implies that the person responsible for Abby’s death remains at large and continues to roam freely.
You can now watch “The Hunting Wives” from start to finish on Netflix. This gripping new thriller, starring Brittany Snow, is adapted from May Cobb’s novel of the same title. The story revolves around Sophie O’Neal, a Boston woman who relocates to a tiny Texas town and becomes embroiled in a criminal plot involving some of the community’s powerful figures. Alongside Snow, the series features Malin Akerman, Jaime Ray Newman, and Dermot Mulroney in key roles.
