Hunt: Showdown 1896 Sees the Game Moving to Xbox Series X|S Today With New Features and Improvements

As a seasoned veteran of the Hunt: Showdown bayou, I can confidently say that this update is a game-changer! The leap to next-gen consoles and the addition of the new Colorado biome, Scorched Earth Event, Wild Target, and an array of new weapons and Hunters has me more excited than a rabid hound on a fresh trail.

Crytek has declared that the version of Hunt: Showdown – 1896 has been released, which transitions the multiplayer PvPvE horror title from Xbox One and PlayStation 4 to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Consequently, play on the previous-generation version of the game is no longer possible.

As a longtime fan of this particular game series, I am thrilled to hear about the latest update that is set to launch for current consoles. Having played the previous versions extensively, I can only imagine how much more immersive and visually stunning the experience will be with an all-new Colorado biome, Scorched Earth Event, Wild Target, new weapons, Hunters, and more. The story’s chronological leap forward, taking the action west of the bayou, promises to open up new and exciting opportunities for exploration and gameplay.

Introducing the latest Mammon’s Gulch map, featuring sixteen exclusive locations nestled within the Rocky Mountains, along with the blazing Hellborn Wild Target, the elusive Scorched Earth Event buried in the mines and oil wells until October 7th, and a wealth of new equipment to acquire, including the 1865 Carbine, Infantry 73L base rifle (with sniper variant), Bear Traps, and additional items. Also included are a fresh Weekly Challenge system and Battle Pass for even more gameplay options.

In the year 1896, Hunt: Showdown is now available with native 4K resolution at 60 frames per second on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, offering a smoother experience on the Series S with 2k resolution at 60fps. The game has been enhanced with improved gunplay mechanics, controller support, and it’s now live! You can watch the launch trailer below for a sneak peek.
