Hunt: Showdown 1896 is Coming to Xbox Series X|S in August With New Mammon's Gulch Map

As a long-time fan of Hunt: Showdown, I couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming release of Hunt: Showdown 1896! Ever since Crytek announced that the game would be making its way to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 back in May, I’ve been eagerly anticipating this next chapter in the hunt for supernatural horrors.

Crytek has revealed that “Hunt: Showdown’s next phase”, titled “Hunt: Showdown 1896, is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 in August, as previously announced in May. Consequently, the initial versions of Hunt: Showdown on Xbox One and PS4 will no longer be accessible.

In Hunt: Showdown, the year is now 1896, marking a significant advancement in the game’s timeline. The hunt for supernatural creatures shifts from the bayou to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, introducing players to the new “Mammon’s Gulch” map. This expansive terrain offers an increased sense of verticality and strategic high ground, perfect for outmaneuvering opponents. Additionally, beneath the forests and hilltops, you’ll find subterranean oil wells and mines, waiting to be explored.

In Hunt: Showdown 1896, the game will take advantage of Cryengine 5.11 for enhanced gameplay and visuals. This update includes better graphics, improved audio design, smoother performance with 4K resolution and HDR at 60 frames per second. Post-launch, original maps will be revamped, ensuring an optimal experience for the PvPvE extraction shooter on powerful consoles or high-performance PCs.

As a long-time fan of Hunt: Showdown, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news with you all. Having played this game on Xbox One for quite some time now, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation as we approach the release of Hunt: Showdown 1896. This new version of the game is set to hit the shelves on August 15th, and I couldn’t be more excited that it will be available not just for PC users like me, but also for those playing on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
