A Queensland man has won the coveted title of Australia’s best Robert Irwin lookalike.
As a lifestyle expert, I always love seeing people embrace their natural gifts! Recently, I heard about Ben Marshall, a dad from Caloundra, who won a look-alike contest by brilliantly resembling a 22-year-old named Robert. He even took home $500 for his efforts – talk about a fun win!
I was so excited to be at the contest on Saturday! It was held in Robert’s hometown, right on Kings Beach, and there were thirty of us all competing to win. It was a fantastic day!
Ben, known for his muscular physique, recently shared on the Today show that people often mistake him for actor Robert Pattinson. He says this has been happening for years, with fans frequently approaching him thinking he is the star.
Ben mentioned that he’s frequently told he resembles someone named Robert. He says people often approach him, and some even ask if he is Robert.
The competitor from Queensland said he hasn’t had anyone ask for his autograph yet, but he’s hoping that will change now that he’s won the competition.

Ben launched into his best Robert impersonation with a fake snake around his neck.
With a strong Australian accent, Ben described the snake as a stunning animal, calling her a ‘real beauty’.
He playfully warned that the animal could bite, then jokingly showed it off around his neck, saying he wasn’t worried at all. ‘Look at this!’ he exclaimed.
Ben playfully danced to honor Robert’s participation on the American version of Dancing with the Stars.
‘I was up all night practising, so yeah, I’m glad I took out the win,’ he said.
Last week, Visit Sunshine Coast announced a competition to celebrate Robert’s homecoming after his success on Dancing with the Stars. According to Visit Sunshine Coast CEO Matt Stoeckel, the competition is meant to welcome Robert back to Australia.
‘To welcome Robert Irwin home after six months, we had a bit of fun,’ Stoeckel said.
He added: ‘If Bindi Irwin had been here, she would have done a double take.

To really pull off being like Steve Irwin, you needed to be fearless and physically fit, and also be able to captivate audiences with energetic performances, like dancing and wrestling crocodiles.
Robert himself was deeply amused by the contest, calling it ‘classic’ in a social media post.
The real Robert took to social media to describe the contest as ‘classic’.
The past year has been incredibly successful for Robert. He won the US edition of Dancing with the Stars, and his new season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! starts airing next Sunday.
Robert continues to work at Australia Zoo, the conservation park founded by his family in Queensland, and is dedicated to continuing the important conservation work started by his father, Steve.
