Hugh Jackman’s Surprising Take on Avengers: Doomsday Rumors!
Following several months of conjecture about his possible part in “Avengers: Doomsday”, Hugh Jackman, the man behind Wolverine, openly expressed his thoughts on whether fans might catch glimpses of his X-Men in the 2026 joint venture movie. Jackman reprised his iconic mutant character in 2024’s “Deadpool & Wolverine”, sparking speculation that this could mark the start of a more substantial return for both the actor and his character within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
In a recent conversation, Hugh Jackman hinted at the possibility of reprising his role as Wolverine in “Avengers: Doomsday,” neither confirming nor dismissing the idea. This ambiguity has sparked much excitement and speculation among fans about who might appear in the upcoming Avengers films, given their Multiverse-focused storylines.
In an interview on The View, Jackman playfully addressed rumors about his possible role in Doomsday. He quipped that while he’s unable to reveal much about appearing in the film, if he did make an appearance, it would essentially transform the movie into a solo performance by him.
I don’t have much to add, but when you use the word ‘appear,’ think of it more as taking center stage and overwhelming all other characters – just kidding. It’s like a solo performance!
Moving on to a more substantial topic, the X-Men actor confessed, “‘I don’t have much else to share,’” and if he did, he “‘would come up with an interesting method to keep it hidden:’
I’m afraid I don’t have anything new to contribute at the moment. If I had, I would have come up with an interesting way to express it, but unfortunately, I don’t. Thank you for your question though!
Fans find Jackman’s remarks intriguing since it’s been verified that classic X-Men figures such as Beast, Professor X, and Magneto are joining the cast of “Doomsday” (and possibly “Secret Wars”).
The movie titled “Avengers: Doomsday” is scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 1, 2026, with filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo returning from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They are well recognized for their past works including “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Endgame,” and “Captain America: Winter Soldier.
In this upcoming movie, Marvel Cinematic Universe’s characters will be compelled to join forces with superhumans hailing from various corners of the Marvel Multiverse. This diverse group includes renowned X-Men such as Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier and Ian McKellen’s Magento, along with a fresh lineup of Fantastic Four headed by Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards. The ensemble must confront the menacing Doctor Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., who poses a significant threat to them all.
Will Hugh Jackman Show Up in Avengers: Doomsday?
Regardless of how evasive Hugh Jackman may act, it won’t deter fans from pondering if he might make an appearance in the upcoming film, “Avengers: Doomsday“.
Given that various X-Men who were part of Jackman’s Wolverine era have been chosen for the film, it’s a tantalizing prospect that Ryan Reynolds, star of Deadpool, might join the cast for Avengers 5 as well. This possibility is simply too alluring for fans to ignore.
It’s not certain if he will appear in Doomsday>, but given that every X-Men film so far features Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, it seems likely that he might be included. The character of Wolverine, played by Jackman, is a key element around which the X-Men movie series has been constructed.
If other iconic mutants are set to participate in the Avengers’ adventures, then isn’t it logical for Jackman’s Wolverine to do so as well?
It’s been rumored that Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has long harbored a desire to bring together the Avengers, Jackman’s X-Men, and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man on screen. Could there be a more suitable setting for establishing this collaboration than in Avengers: Doomsday?
It appears that there might be even more actors joining “Avengers 5” than what’s currently known, and it’s quite possible that Hugh Jackman’s name will surface among the upcoming announcements regarding the movie.
