As a gamer and a fan of both Deadpool and Wolverine, I’m incredibly excited to see these two iconic characters come together on the big screen. The behind-the-scenes stories from the London press conference for “Deadpool & Wolverine” only fueled my anticipation.
Though Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman engage in playful banter on social media, their friendly rivalry belies a deep-rooted affection for one another.
For instance, during last Friday’s (July 12) press conference in London for the production of “Deadpool & Wolverine,” which I had the pleasure of attending, Jackman expressed his admiration for observing Reynolds filming, particularly when he donned the Deadpool costume.
I’ve been fortunate enough to know Ryan for an impressive 17 years now. His natural talent and wit have always left me in awe. But recently, I’ve been completely captivated by his ability to bring specific details to life. It’s a truly remarkable sight to behold.

During filming, actors frequently ask, “Where’s the camera?” but on this set, Ryan wasn’t inquiring about the camera’s location. Instead, he was expressing concern about how to position his hand and shoulders for optimal effect. He was meticulously adjusting every part of his body to convey the intended message through his acting.
When I visit Ryan’s place, the TV is always tuned to TCM, playing classic films like those of Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin. Immersed in the set, I find myself in awe, whispering to myself, “This modern-day artist has mastered the artistry of Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin.”
Reynolds finds advantage in portraying Deadpool while wearing the suit that limits his use of facial expressions.
He admitted, “To be honest, I find it more like playing a clown than what I can do. Every tiny gesture of your hands, every inflection in your voice, even the smallest facial twitch – these are things I simply cannot replicate.”

“The weight of speaking and acting falls on me, as well as my physical self. Yet, I experience a unique sense of liberation when wearing the mask.”
As an avid fan, I can hardly contain my excitement as we draw nearer to the long-awaited on-screen reunion of our beloved duo, portraying their iconic characters. The wait has been prolonged more than initially anticipated, but Reynolds recently shed light on a silver lining: the production delay brought about some significant improvements for the film.
As a devoted fan of Reynolds, I can tell you that during an interview, he clarified that the “Marvel Jesus” quip in his film doesn’t relate to the Marvel Cinamic Universe (MCU) encountering any recent difficulties.
Deadpool & Wolverine is released in UK cinemas on July 25 and in US cinemas on July 26.
