Hugh Jackman has unveiled the outrageous transformation he made for his latest film Song Sung Blue.
And fans of the 56–year–old Wolverine star may be in for a shock.
On Tuesday, the popular heartthrob shared a fresh movie trailer on his social media platforms. Remarkably, it’s hard to identify the renowned singer and dancer in the clip.
In the movie, Hugh portrayed Neil Diamond by adopting his well-known late ’70s style, featuring flamboyant sideburns and long hair falling on his shoulders.
The trailer showcases various scenes where Hugh delivers flawless renditions of Neil Diamond’s classic songs, such as his number one hit from 1969 and a well-loved karaoke tune like “Sweet Caroline.
A notable moment in the latest trailer involves the main character performing a dance in his undershirts, while another part showcases Hugh, emotionally distraught, sharing a tearful scene with Kate Hudson.

Hugh has revealed that the movie will be hitting cinemas during the upcoming festive period. He posted a sneak peek of it on Instagram, accompanied by a message:
‘This tale unfolds as a heartwarming romance. It delves into themes of fresh starts, kinship, adversity, profound love, and pursuit of aspirations.’
‘This film is a Christmas gift (with popcorn).’
According to Greg Koh’s 2008 documentary titled similarly, the movie Song Sung Blue focuses on struggling musician Mike Sardina, played by Hugh Jackman, who hails from Milwaukee.
Together with another struggling musician named Claire (portrayed by Kate Hudson), he establishes a duet act dedicated to Neil Diamond that they nickname ‘Lightning & Thunder.’
Hidden from public view, the couple often grapple with challenges within their family and personal battles, such as past traumas and alcohol issues.
The movie portrays a true-to-life tale about a husband and wife duo, who became local celebrities following the formation of their band that paid homage to the iconic ’70s artist, Neil Diamond.
Claire gained recognition for channeling the legendary American country artist Patsy Cline, whereas her spouse, Mike, captivated audiences with his interpretation of chart-topping artist Neil Diamond.

Although they didn’t achieve major success beyond their home city, the duo had the opportunity to perform as an opening act for the renowned rock band Pearl Jam at one point in their career.
In a striking ensemble, the actors Michael Imperioli (from The Sopranos), Jim Belushi, and Fisher Stevens (of Succession) share the stage musically.
As a devoted enthusiast, I’m excited to share that I’ll be working under the guidance of the renowned director, Craig Brewer, who brought the 2011 Footloose remake to life. I can hardly wait to be part of his next masterpiece!
Both project titles pay homage to the popular 1972 song, “Song Sung Blue,” by Diamond, as it was a chart-topper at that time.
In the upcoming movie, Jackman will have an opportunity to display his well-known talent for singing and dancing, following his remarkable achievements on the Broadway stage with the musical “The Music Man.
Meanwhile, Kate Hudson, 45, released her debut album Glorious in 2024.
