Hugh Grant wrote his own Bridget Jones 4 scenes

As a die-hard fan who has grown up with Bridget Jones and her chaotic love life, I was absolutely thrilled to hear that Hugh Grant took it upon himself to write some scenes for the upcoming movie, “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.” It’s not every day we get to witness an actor so deeply invested in a project that they contribute to the script!

Hugh Grant has revealed that he wrote his own scenes in the upcoming Bridget Jones movie.

In the upcoming fourth part of the series, titled “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,” we find Bridget (portrayed by RenĂ©e Zellweger) managing single parenthood while raising her two kids.

Daniel Cleaver, played by Grant, is coming back into the picture. However, the character’s part in the script didn’t meet his expectations when he first took it on.

He shared with Vanity Fair that the script deeply touched him, causing him to shed tears and feel compelled to contribute. However, he clarified that there’s no role for Daniel Cleaver in it at all. They had initially wanted him, but ultimately made a decision I found less than appealing.

Later, it was disclosed that Grant had penned certain scenes for his role, and these were accepted by the movie makers, eventually prompting him to commit to the production.

Regarding the movie, he hinted, “It’s hands down my favorite adaptation from ‘Bridget Jones’. I find it hilarious and incredibly touching. My role isn’t extensive – I worked for a week, that’s all – but when you watch the film, I promise you’ll be deeply touched.

As an enthusiastic supporter, I couldn’t help but share my excitement over the recent cinema-exclusive release of the first trailer for “Mad About the Boy.” In this tantalizing sneak peek, our beloved Grant’s character can be seen shaking up cocktails alongside Jones’ children, and he even gives the concoction a playful label: “dirty bitch.” I can hardly wait to see more!

In a nod to a line from the first movie, he takes a sip and calls it a “filthy bitch” instead.

The fourth film’s shooting concluded last month, as confirmed by Studio Working Title, who announced, “It’s a wrap! We’ll meet again on Valentine’s Day.

In this upcoming game sequel, I’m thrilled to have the return of Gemma Jones and Jim Broadbent as my parents, just like in the previous installment. Also, Sally Phillips, Shirley Henderson, and James Callis will be reprising their roles as Sharon, Jude, and Tom respectively. Emma Thompson is set to return as Doctor Rawlings, and I can’t wait to see what Sarah Solemani brings to her character Miranda!

Additionally starring are Chiwetel Ejiofor from Doctor Strange, Leo Woodall known for One Day, Nico Parker of The Last of Us, Leila Farzad from I Hate Suzie, and Isla Fisher famous for Arrested Development.

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy will be released in cinemas on February 14, 2025.
