Huge UK singer ‘set for new Netflix film after battle with demons saw shock exit from the music industry’ as rumours stir about a 2025 comeback
According to reports, Lewis Capaldi is teaming up with Netflix to create a movie based on his personal struggles that led to his unexpected departure from the music scene.
28-year-old Scottish musician has shared that he needs some time away from the public eye to focus on his mental well-being and adapt to the effects of his recently diagnosed Tourette’s syndrome, following his performance at Glastonbury festival in June 2023.
Wow, let me tell you, I was absolutely thrilled when just last month, I got to witness Lewis himself making a surprise entrance during Tom Walker’s show in Edinburgh! It was an unforgettable moment for this die-hard fan like myself.
Currently, it seems that the popular singer is having discussions with the top brass at the streaming service about potential plans for a fresh venture, as per The Sun’s reports.
According to the source, it’s being ensured that everything will be arranged differently this time to prevent him from becoming overwhelmed and safeguard his mental well-being.
He truly desires his followers to grasp his recent experiences and whereabouts over the past two years. Consequently, producing another special seems quite fitting.

If the project gets approved, it will primarily focus on authentic and exposed instances, acknowledging that the past few years haven’t been an easy journey.
TopMob has contacted Lewis’s representatives for a comment.
According to recent reports, there are rumors suggesting that Lewis might return with a new album in 2025, as he has reportedly been discussing this possibility with friends. However, these reports have not been officially confirmed yet.
In a recent interview, Yungblud, who is 27 and a close friend of Lewis, shared that Lewis’s voice sounds amazing. Moreover, he disclosed that Lewis is currently developing some fresh tunes.
Yungblud, who had a close friendship with the successful artist even before they both gained prominence, shared an update about Lewis. He’s recovering his mental health, as Lewis had earlier mentioned that his break was intended for addressing both his mental and physical wellbeing.
He shared with The Sun: “I’ve listened to his latest music, and it’s fantastic. He seems to be focusing on his mental well-being.
Dominic Harrison, also known as YungBlud, went on to say: “I deeply care for him because we’ve shared this journey together.
At the same moment, he might be the sole friend privy to my current struggles. Just as I understand his situation, he understands mine.

The artist behind the recent release “Hello Heaven, Hello” mentioned that he has developed a very close relationship with Lewis and shared that his friend offered guidance on how to execute a ballad for his upcoming album.
At the Glastonbury festival in 2023, Lewis emerged after a three-week break for personal rejuvenation and recuperation related to his mental health.
Back on the stage, the singer confessed that he had felt extremely nervous, almost terrified, about performing, as he shared insights into his personal battles with mental health issues.
But, Lewis confirmed he would be taking another break away from the spotlight after the show.
During his performance, he openly admitted that he was battling with Tourette’s syndrome. He mentioned that his voice had given out due to persistent coughing during the concert.
Tourette’s syndrome is a neurological disorder that is marked by repetitive, uncontrollable sounds and movements known as tics, which may include vocal disruptions in speech patterns.

In spite of his hardships, Lewis persevered and chose to carry on with his performance. Moved by his determination, his audience showed immense support, culminating in a heartfelt finale where they serenaded him with “Someone You Love.”
Lewis pressed forward amidst his difficulties and decided not to stop performing. His fans, inspired by his resilience, gathered their support for him, resulting in an emotional ending as the audience sang “Someone You Love” to him.
In a touching scene, Lewis strolled onto the Pyramid Stage, intermittently crooning snippets of his song, as the generous audience enthusiastically joined in with their powerful vocals, offering him encouragement.
Following his performance, Lewis expressed on his social media platforms: ‘Although I suspect this news won’t be unexpected, it doesn’t lessen the difficulty in sharing it.’
Previously, I found every moment of programs similar to this incredibly enjoyable. I had hoped that a three-week break would help me feel better.
He went on to say: ‘However, I must admit that I’m still adapting to the effects of Tourette’s, and over the weekend it became clear that I need to invest more effort into managing both my mental and physical wellness. This is crucial if I want to keep pursuing all the things I cherish for many years ahead.’
I deeply apologize to those who were looking forward to attending the shows by year-end, but I must prioritize my health to deliver a performance that meets your high expectations.
Performing for you each evening was always my ultimate dream, making this a particularly challenging choice for me. Rest assured, I will return as soon as it’s feasible.
Approximately six months later, on New Year’s Eve, Lewis shared with his followers an update, stating: “I’m genuinely delighted to share that I’ve seen significant progress in both areas ever since I chose to take a break starting in June.
Currently, I’m choosing to devote some personal time to self-care, possibly penning down some melodies and indulging in a bit of introspection as I reminisce about the remarkable chapters of my life that have unfolded thus far.
I need to be completely certain that I’m fully prepared before diving back into performing more shows, as it’s my greatest passion!
These tunes are incredibly significant to me, and it would sadden me deeply not to have shared them with you. I hope they provide some comfort until we can gather for a singing session and share these songs in person, which I truly hope happens very soon!
Lewis additionally expressed his gratitude towards his fans, mentioning that their response was “something I’ve never encountered before and has rekindled my enthusiasm more than ever for getting back to what I cherish – doing it again sometime soon.
