Huge rock icon leaves fans stunned after making VERY bizarre exit from stage in a coffin after London show
At a concert over the weekend, an enormously famous rock figure took his audience by surprise with an extremely unusual off-stage departure.
78-year-old rock legend Iggy Pop bid farewell to his audience at London’s Alexandra Palace by exiting the stage in a coffin following a performance.
At the American singer’s Lust For Life concert, the crowd was already taken aback, but they were even more astonished when he emerged from a coffin, bare-chested.
He was then wheeled off as the crowd cheered and later shared the clip to his X account.
‘I had a great time in London! The way you leave somewhere can be just as memorable as the way you arrive.’

For the majority of his latest concerts in the U.K., Iggy (also known as James Osterberg Jr) has chosen to perform without a shirt on.
Renowned for his unexpected on-stage behaviors, he became a member of rock band The Stooges and was enshrined in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.
At this event, Iggy seemed cheerful and upbeat, quite a contrast to his past performance where he was known to curse at the crowd.
The foul-mouthed exchange took place in Venoge Festival in Penthaz, Switzerland back in 2023.
With the stage illuminated by a bright light, it was apparent that Iggy was flipping off the crowd with both hands.
Or, more colloquially: In the glare of the spotlight, everyone could tell that Iggy was giving the audience the finger with each hand.
2020 saw Iggy being honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Grammys, recognizing his remarkable career that has endured over several decades.
Initially, he had reservations about accepting the accolade, even going so far as to express dislike towards the Recording Academy when they reached out to him.
In conversation with Classic Rock, he shared: ‘The Grammys repeatedly reached out to me over the phone.’

As a committed team member, I repeatedly conveyed to my supervisor, “I prefer not to engage with them. Their behavior towards me feels more like being showcased in a museum rather than interacting professionally.
He went on to say: ‘Later on, I had a conversation with the woman from the Grammys around two months back. She told me: “We are honoring you with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Your work is instrumental in the success of artists like Lil Nas X and Billie Eilish. Without you, they wouldn’t exist.”‘
He added: ‘I chatted with the Grammy lady a couple of months ago. She said: “We’re giving you the Lifetime Achievement Award because you’re key to the rise of artists like Lil Nas X and Billie Eilish. Without you, they wouldn’t be here.”‘
Based on her statement, “You represent a direct connection to the artists leading our award nominations this year.” Here’s an interpretation: This individual sees you as a point of contact for this year’s top-tier award-winning artists. Take it for what it’s worth.
Despite being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the Stooges back in 2010, Pop considered the Grammy Awards to be a more challenging nut to crack.
He mentioned, “I guess I can say that it feels like the Academy and I found a middle ground, somewhat similar to that. Let’s put it this way, a challenge has been resolved. Over the past decade or so, such incidents have been part of my career. At first, it was quite challenging.
In simpler terms, “Initially, I didn’t think Raw Power was particularly improved or worsened by this realization. However, over time, I understood that everyone has their unique perspective.
As I’ve grown and evolved, it has become increasingly clear to me that many individuals hold perspectives vastly different from my own. Initially, my youthful self might have been inclined to dismiss such differences, but now I recognize the importance of respecting these unique viewpoints. Back then, at 25, it was more like, “If you don’t see things my way, well, let’s just say we didn’t see eye-to-eye.” However, as I matured, I learned that embracing diversity in thought is essential for personal growth and a more harmonious world.
