Huge comedian issues heartfelt apology to fans as he’s forced to cancel upcoming Scotland shows due to being too unwell to perform

Rob Beckett expressed regret to his audience as he had to scrap his scheduled comedy gigs in Scotland this week because of poor health conditions.

Instead of taking the stage for his scheduled performance, the well-known comedian (age 39) shared the unfortunate news on his Instagram Stories, expressing deep regret and tendering a sincere apology, acknowledging that he wasn’t feeling well enough to perform.

Originally scheduled to perform his comedy tour, Giraffe, at Aberdeen Music Hall and Edinburgh Playhouse this week, he has announced that the shows will instead be held in January of next year due to a rescheduling.

Hey folks, I’ve got some bad news to share – I’m really under the weather right now and unfortunately won’t be able to perform at the shows in Scotland this week. I’m absolutely devastated, as you all know how much I love being there with you!

‘The dates of the events in Aberdeen and Edinburgh have been changed. Aberdeen is now on January 14, 2026, while Edinburgh is on January 15, 2026. The venue will contact you regarding the new details, but your tickets are still valid for both shows.’

He found himself saying: ‘Regrettably, I’m not feeling my best right now and may not be able to deliver an optimal performance. However, I’m eagerly anticipating meeting everyone again at our upcoming shows.’

The star of Celebs Go Dating will be taking a break from the tour for a few months, then resuming in Liverpool in September. Shows are also planned for Sheffield, Southend, Buxton, Oxford, Belfast, Derry, and Dublin.

Next month, Rob will be traveling to the land Down Under, performing shows throughout Australia and New Zealand. Following this, he’ll be back in the UK for concerts in Leicester, Coventry, Halifax, Newcastle, Hull, Bristol, Nottingham, and Eastbourne.

In the upcoming new year, the star’s Giraffe tour will be carried on, starting with the postponed performances in Scotland. Following these shows, there are concerts planned in Dubai, Brighton, and London.

Following the completion of my extensive tour, I’ve made the decision to step away from stand-up touring in order to prioritize quality time with my cherished kids.

He is a father of two daughters with his wife Louise, and while he freely discusses the ups and downs of parenting on his podcast “Parenting Hell” alongside co-host Josh Widdicombe, he prefers to keep their names and images confidential.

In March, he confessed to The Sun that he intended to postpone touring until his two daughters had grown up completely.

Rob mentioned that he will continue with stand-up performances, local clubs, and charity events, but he plans to pause touring until his children reach the ages of 16 or 17.

After they reach their senior year of high school and move on to university, my plan is to embark on a substantial trip with Lou. During February and March, we intend to leisurely explore Australia.

In addition to sharing another goal for his future, he mentioned: “At age 50, I plan on earning a degree in Psychology.

Additionally, Rob stepped down from his weekend program on Radio 2 in April, following his appointment as Paul O’Grady’s successor in 2022.

After a change in the work schedule that involved him frequently trading shifts with Rob, Paul decided to resign in August 2022 upon learning he would have to divide his responsibilities with a more junior broadcaster.

As a devoted adherent, I openly acknowledged then that my departure from the station was due to the fact that I found the arrangement of 13 weeks on, followed by 13 weeks off, less than satisfying for me.

Following Radio 2’s efforts to appeal to younger audiences by hiring younger personalities, a controversy over ageism ensued, resulting in the departure of veteran talents like Ken Bruce.

For quite a while, Rob has been in charge of the weekly 5 pm to 7 pm segment. This continued up until February, when he made it known that he was leaving the program. However, he emphasized that he would still be connected with the BBC Radio 2 team.

He shared: “Every Sunday, I’ve found great joy in meeting listeners and having a good chuckle. However, with my tour dates increasing and my family struggling to recognize me, I’ve chosen to take a break from hosting the weekly program.

However, it won’t be so simple for you to evade me since I will return to host shows on Radio 2 towards the end of the year once regular programming resumes.

Helen Thomas, the head of Radio 2, expressed her gratitude towards Rob for his exceptional Sunday evening performances. She confirmed that he will continue to be part of the Radio 2 family and can expect to hear him on the station in the future.
