HoYoverse has unveiled its upcoming Honkai IP game called “Honkai: Nexus Anima”. This intriguing project, initially hinted at through job postings last year, promises to be a Chinese urban fantasy RPG with a focus on spirit companions, strategic auto chess battles, and exploration.

At the Honkai: Star Rail Concert in 2025, HoYoverse unveiled a brief trailer for their upcoming Honkai game. The sneak peek showcased two trainers preparing to engage in combat with their creatures.

It seems that while the formal title hasn’t been disclosed yet, there are indications pointing towards “Honkai: Nexus Anima” due to trademark filings and domain registrations. This conjecture is supported by regional Twitter accounts such as @HonkaiNA and its counterparts in various languages.

Initially announced as early as March of this year through job vacancies, it appears that the job descriptions were for a game set in a tranquil coastal village. Based on my interpretation of the translations, players can gather “Destined Spirits” to create a team and participate in combat.

These mystical creatures can be taught new skills and advanced, granting them the power to soar, glide, and ride waves, while revealing hidden mysteries along the way. They’ve often been compared to Pokemon. Key features about this game include its development using Unity engine, with vacancies for roles in game system development, rendering, animation, level design, and many others.

In case you recall, a previous job posting image from last year seemed to depict a contemporary urban landscape, and it appears the latest one is quite similar. It’s worth noting that the hiring for the Mission Designer was part of the preliminary research phase within the Honkai IP.

For HoYoverse, the Honkai Intellectual Property (IP) has significantly grown in strength, with four titles already launched, notably including Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai: Star Rail.
