Howard Stern suffered brutal double humiliation when he discovered his show was ‘doomed’… including call from best bud Jimmy Kimmel

The entire team of 95, led by Howard Stern, united at a team-building event in Manhattan on a Tuesday afternoon, all sharing a single unified purpose.

Before the start of the 20th season on SiriusXM on September 2, there will be a gathering featuring some cocktails, ping pong games, and plenty of hearty laughter.

The 71-year-old manager, unlike being at the lively Spin bar in Midtown, was relaxing at his Southampton mansion, which costs $21 million, where he has primarily stayed since the onset of Covid.

During the company party, a seasoned producer delivered an emotional speech, expressing gratitude towards the team for their dedication. He hinted that with Stern’s comeback in September, they could expect more prominent guests and the finest quality of radio broadcasts possible.

By 5:30 pm, the group divided: a few opted for bar-hopping in Hell’s Kitchen, while others chose to dine at Benihana, the Japanese restaurant.

At that moment, a shocking revelation unfolded: A news flash reported that Stern might leave SiriusXM permanently, as the company was struggling to meet his substantial financial requirements for a new contract.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I found myself taken aback by the sudden shift in atmosphere. It seemed as though this unexpected turn of events had caught everyone off guard, leaving us all puzzled and longing for clarity. Alas, our attempts to uncover answers proved fruitless.

Repeated calls to executive producer Gary Dell’Abate went unanswered.

Unbeknownst to the team, the surprising revelation caught even Stern off guard. He learned about it through a Google Alert while wrapping up his dinner following an evening stroll on the beach.

Instead of his well-known acquaintances hastily phoning, it was reported that Sterne apparently declined conversations initiated by Ali Wentworth and Jimmy Fallon. However, he answered when Jimmy Kimmel, an old buddy, dialed.

‘First I’m hearing of it,’ was all a reportedly stunned Stern could manage.

Multiple reports indicated that Stern chose to air a special program on Wednesday morning to address rumors suggesting his career might be over.

Instead of discussing his show’s future during the broadcast, he had an extensive conversation with Lars Ulrich from Metallica instead. At the end of the program, he promised his audience that he would return on September 2nd.

Previously, it was disclosed by the Daily Mail that the talk show host has been engaged in significant discussions with SiriusXM regarding the possibility of renewing his $500 million contract, which expires at the end of 2025.

According to some sources, he was expected to sign a contract for about a year or two; however, other reports suggest that he is disgruntled due to Sirius giving more support to rival host Andy Cohen.

Since the pandemic, Stern has primarily been working from home, a shift that has led to some critics, including both fans and celebrities, questioning his approach as coming across as overly “progressive” or distant.

Regardless of whether his remarkable streak concludes this autumn or persists, the turmoil at Stern HQ on Tuesday underscores the turbulence we can expect in the coming months.

Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Stern for comment but has not heard back.

It’s suggested that the fact Stern wasn’t aware of the impending revelation regarding his contract issues indicates that a significant event or conclusion might be approaching.

Over the past few years, there has been a significant transformation in the public image of the shock jock, who was once known for his formidable reputation within American entertainment. Now, as Kanye West put it, he’s seen as an outdated old man. This change has been quite striking, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed that he recently expressed being ‘woke’ with pride, which has led to criticism.

The source indicated: ‘He might agree to a two-year deal, provided they align financially with his expectations. He’s not interested in leaving his staff in a lurch like that.’

According to a different report, Stern is contemplating leaving SiriusXM and may sell his collection of shows for rebroadcast on the uncensored stations Howard 100 and Howard 101 without restrictions.

‘This year he has been saying ‘maybe I should retire”, one source said, after a 40-year career.

One idea is that Stern could possibly return for ‘specials’ with SiriusXM.

In 2023, upon hearing comments suggesting he was no longer as skilled, Stern responded by interpreting this as a form of compliment, implying he’s aware and in touch with current events. He further explained his perspective, stating that being ‘asleep’ would be the opposite of ‘woke.’

If “woke” refers to me not being able to back Trump, or supporting individuals who identify as transgender, advocating for vaccines, or generally being aware and understanding of social issues, then feel free to label me as ‘woke’ in any way you prefer.

The popular radio host experienced a significant drop in audience, decreasing from an impressive daily listenership of 20 million to figures that listeners speculate could be as low as 125,000. For the past five years, he has primarily broadcasted from his home due to concerns about COVID-19.

Known as the “Ruler of All Media,” Howard Stern originally aired The Howard Stern Show on traditional radio stations back in 1986.

He’s spent decades getting jaw-dropping confessions from his guests.

Donald Trump has appeared on the show more than 20 times.

In 1997, he confessed to having multiple sexual partners and expressed his hope for the best when questioned about whether he had used protection.

In 2006, he called his daughter Ivanka ‘very voluptuous.’

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share that in his 2019 book, “Howard Stern Comes Again,” Howard Stern expressed his deepest regrets over an instance from the early ’90s when he conducted an interview with Robin Williams that was unusually harsh. Unfortunately, he never had the chance to apologize for it.

In a letter, he stated that he persistently urged him to divorce his first spouse and marry their nanny. To put it simply, he admitted to confronting or challenging the man aggressively.

Reflecting back now, with a deeper understanding of my past narcissistic tendencies thanks to therapy, I yearn to express my heartfelt apologies to the one and only Mr. Williams – if only he were still among us. Alas, it’s too late for words that should have been spoken earlier.

‘I’m still filled with sadness and remorse for not calling sooner,’ Stern said.

In 2009, when Kim and Khloe Kardashian made their appearance on the show, Howard Stern confessed that he failed to grasp their charm at first.

‘I didn’t even know if they had talent,’ he said — then asked Khloe about dating black men.

‘Once you go black, you never go back,’ she replied, adding she only dated black men.

Kim disagreed: ‘She’s only dated black guys. I’m not.’

‘Maybe it’s because we have big a**es. Black guys like that,’ Kim said.

Both sisters said they liked spanking, hair-pulling, and dirty talk in bed.

Stern has been involved in hosting late-night programs, pay-per-view events, and authored three books, with two of them becoming bestsellers.

But he’s also sparked outrage with offensive remarks.

Following the Columbine tragedy, he commented that some of the escaping girls were particularly attractive, and inquired if any of the students had attempted to engage in sexual activity with them.

Or:

In the wake of the Columbine shooting, he remarked about certain fleeing females that they were quite attractive, and wondered if any of the students had made sexual advances towards them.

‘If I was going to kill some people, I’d take them out with sex.’

In 1992, he admitted that his closest encounter with a Black woman, as he put it, was fantasizing about Aunt Jemima, who is depicted on a pancake mix box.

1995 saw him mimicking the grieving fans of Selena by making gunshot noises and adopting a mock Spanish accent, just a day before her funeral.

The Daily Mail reached out to the representatives of Wentworth, Fallon, and Kimmel seeking their comments, however, no response has been received as of yet.

Previously, attempts were made to reach out to representatives for Howard Stern, SiriusXM, and Andy Cohen for their comments, but we are still awaiting a response.
