Determined Howard Stern is preparing a comeback, aiming to revive his career, as the continuation of his popular SiriusXM radio program remains uncertain.
In simpler terms, after seven years on the air with the second version of The Howard Stern Show, the host, now 71, is nearing the end of his five-year, $500 million contract. Some people are predicting that the show may come to an end due to a decline in listener numbers, which some attribute to Howard Stern becoming more politically aware (or “woke”) and shifting his focus accordingly.
According to an exclusive source, the Daily Mail reports that a reinvigorated Stern is preparing to demonstrate his abilities once more and believes he remains unrivaled in his profession. He is contemplating possibilities beyond SiriusXM for the future.
Currently, Howard seems to be ready for any challenge that comes his way. He has his preferences, and despite the current circumstances not being ideal, they’re nothing unexpected to him, according to the source.
Not only is he not attributing changes to his age, but rather acknowledging the evolution of the world around him; he’s adapting accordingly. Otherwise, he would have faded away long ago.
It’s accurate to say that he’s not fond of the surge in podcasts, as he feels his skills are superior and prefers to educate others instead of being overshadowed by others.

Currently, Stern is considering the possibility of teaming up with major streaming platforms like HBO or Netflix – aiming to conclude his career in a self-determined manner.
The source further stated: “The uncertainty is like music to Howard. He flourishes in such an environment of the unknown. He’s accustomed to confronting a personal adversary in these circumstances. Previously, NBC served as that antagonist; take a look at his film.
After nearly two decades with Sirius, and considering recent events like the controversy surrounding America’s Got Talent and potentially waning relations, Simon Cowell is still seeking a way to remain involved, particularly for the sake of his team who would be primarily impacted by any changes.
If things persist with Sirius, he has other paths open that could lead to collaborations with HBO or Netflix. Even if this situation turns sour, it doesn’t mean his tale has reached its end. There’s still more to come.
He desires to bring everything to a close according to his personal plans, as he feels he’s earned such an outcome given his accomplishments in the field.
2022 saw the passing of Ben, Stern’s father, followed by the loss of his close friend and stylist, Ralph Cirella, in 2023, as well as the recent demise of his longtime agent Don Buchwald. These events have reportedly led Stern to contemplate his future.
Apparently, Howard had already considered retiring, but events kept unfolding one after the other, leaving him unexpectedly affected.
Should he re-sign with Sirius or join another team, this contract would mark the final one in his career. If, however, Sirius doesn’t secure his services, he already has an alternative strategy in place. Regardless, no one but himself and his own aspirations will determine the conclusion of his career.

On Tuesday, The Daily Mail reported an exclusive finding: Stern’s team of 95 individuals were engaged in a team-bonding event in Manhattan. Suddenly, a news flash declared that Stern was contemplating leaving SiriusXM entirely.
The surprising news, which later became known as a bombshell, caught Stern off guard too. He found out about it while wrapping up his dinner following an evening stroll on the beach in Southampton, through a notification from Google Alert.
Multiple reports indicated that Stern opted to host an “urgent broadcast” on Wednesday morning to address rumors of his retirement.
When he signed off, he assured listeners he’d be back on September 2.
Previously, it was disclosed that the controversial radio host is engaged in substantial talks with SiriusXM regarding the possibility of renewing his $500 million deal, which expires at the end of 2025.
As a devoted follower, I’ve picked up whispers suggesting that he was about to sign a contract lasting a year or two at most. Yet, there are rumors circulating that he feels disgruntled due to SiriusXM’s substantial support for another host, Andy Cohen, whom they seem to favor over him.
Stern has been broadcasting mostly from home since the pandemic.
In more straightforward language, we can say that the radio personality, who once had a formidable status in American entertainment, has experienced a significant transformation over the past few years. Now, he is often referred to as an outdated man by Kanye West, and he’s faced criticism after openly identifying himself as ‘woke’.
In 2023, following rumors suggesting he was past his prime, Stern responded by saying: “In fact, I view those comments as a compliment because I’m aware and in tune with current events. Allow me to explain my perspective on this matter. To me, being ‘unwoke’ equates to being asleep.
If by “woke” you mean a person who is aware and understanding of social and racial justice issues, or someone who supports LGBTQ+ rights, or an individual who advocates for vaccines, then feel free to refer to me as woke if that suits your preference.
Initially garnering an astounding 20 million daily listeners, the popularity of the radio personality has reportedly dropped significantly, with many fans speculating that current listener numbers may have plummeted to a mere 125,000.
1986 marked a significant turning point for Stern, as his radio show gained immense popularity, earning him the title of ‘Radio Mogul’.
He’s spent decades getting jaw-dropping confessions from his guests.
Donald Trump has appeared on the show more than 20 times.
In 1997, the current president confessed to having multiple extramarital affairs and stated that he “crossed his fingers” when asked about whether or not he practiced safe sex.
In 2006, he called his daughter Ivanka ‘very voluptuous.’
As a devoted admirer, I find myself reflecting on a confession made by Howard Stern in his 2019 publication, “Howard Stern Comes Again.” He openly expressed his deepest regret for not offering an apology to the late Robin Williams, following a harsh interview they had during the early ’90s.
He persistently questioned him about leaving his first spouse to marry their nanny, which he expressed in writing. To put it another way, he was confronting or challenging that individual.
In a variety of roles, Stern has presented late-night programs, pay-per-view productions, and authored three books, with two of them becoming top sellers.
But he’s also sparked outrage with offensive remarks.
Following the Columbine tragedy, he commented that some of the escaping girls were particularly attractive, and inquired whether any of the students had attempted to engage in sexual activity with them.
Or, more informally:
After the Columbine shooting, he made a comment about some of the fleeing girls being good-looking and asked if any of the students had tried to hook up or date them.
‘If I was going to kill some people, I’d take them out with sex.’
In 1995, on the day before her funeral, he imitated Selena’s fans using gunshot noises and an exaggerated Spanish accent, which was disrespectful.
The Daily Mail has attempted to contact Howard Stern’s representatives for a response but has not received any feedback so far.
