How will Athena land the plane in season 8, episode 3 of 911? (Preview)

As a seasoned gamer of emergency response dramas, I can confidently say that the latest twist in 911 is as thrilling as it gets! The cliffhanger at the end of episode 2 had me on the edge of my seat, and now with Athena potentially having to land a plane before it crashes, I’m all in for an adrenaline rush.

The series 911 has gained significant traction, particularly with its opening trilogy that began with an incident involving bees and culminated in the character Athena potentially having to avert a plane crash. As the third episode is poised to delve into the attempts to land the plane, what insights can we gather about this installment?

After episode 2 concluded, I found myself rooting for the 118 team as they provided assistance over the phone to stranded passengers below. A resourceful young lad named Jem pitched in, offering his aviation knowledge to support Athena’s efforts. However, even with Jem’s aid, Athena was still in need of a professional pilot’s expertise.

Regrettably, though the co-pilot regained consciousness following an initial fainting spell caused by his injuries from the initial crash, he succumbed to a heart attack towards the end of the ordeal. This brings us back to questioning Athena’s current situation.

Assistance is arriving at LAX via the 118, ready to lend a hand when the flight touches down. However, Buck had been unsuccessful in reaching Bobby. He arrived at Bobby’s workplace at the same time as Bobby was being informed about the plane emergency, having listened to a message from Athena left on his voicemail.

Will Athena land the plane in 911 season 8, episode 3?

As I’m hunkered down in my gaming chair, I can’t help but feel the adrenaline pumping as I watch the third episode promo. Bobby and Buck are stuck in a gridlock on the 110 freeway, trying to push through, but it seems like they’re at a standstill. The tension rises when Athena queries if anyone has a safe landing spot for the plane. It appears that, in a pinch, Bobby has converted the highway into an emergency runway. Now, I’m wondering if this impromptu landing is because the fuel gauge on our bird is dangerously low and we might not make it to LAX in time.

If Bobby and Buck indeed become the plane’s last resort, it’s crucial that the 118 team and additional fire crews get there promptly. With just Brad the actor and a prop fire engine from a TV series at their disposal, they’re limited in what they can achieve.

The promo also had an incredible moment of Athena telling Bobby that she loved him. His only response was for her to “tell [him] in person.” Excuse us while we swoon!

“Athena’s only chance of surviving and saving everyone on the flight is to attempt to land the plane before it crashes and call on the 118 for help.”

911 airs Thursday, Oct. 10 at 8/7c. You can catch up on the episode the following day on Hulu.

Make sure to keep an eye on Precinct TV for more 911 coverage.
