How to watch Joker: Folie à Deux right now

As a die-hard Joker fan, it’s disappointing to see that the much-anticipated movie Folie à Deux hasn’t been performing well at the box office during its initial run and it appears the trend isn’t changing even in its second weekend.

As a gaming enthusiast, I was eagerly anticipating catching up with the Joker in the comfort of my home following the mixed reviews about the DC sequel. Unfortunately, the movie’s exclusive theater release means that for now, I’ll have to make a trip to the cinema to enjoy the much-awaited Joker 2.

Warner Bros hasn’t specified the digital or streaming launch dates for “Joker 2” just yet, but by examining similar recent releases, we might be able to make an educated guess about when we could stream “Joker 2” from home.

It’s currently only possible to see “Joker: Folie à Deux” in a cinema, as it has been granted an exclusive theater premiere.

Should you be interested, the movie is currently playing in cinemas across the UK and US, as it was officially released on October 4, 2024.

You’ll find numerous affordable movie theater offers at multiple locations throughout the United Kingdom, such as Vue and Odeon, which you can utilize.

When will Joker 2 be released on digital platforms?

It’s currently unconfirmed when Warner Bros will make “Joker: Folie à Deux” available digitally in both the UK and USA. Historically, they tend to wait approximately 45 days after a film’s cinema release before offering it digitally.

It seems we’re looking at a potential digital release by mid-November, but there’s a chance it could come earlier. Just like how Mad Max: Fury Road was made available digitally about a month following its initial release.

In the U.S., Beetlejuice Beetlejuice became available on digital platforms a month after its theatrical release, demonstrating a possible shift in distribution strategy for Warner Bros. Meanwhile, it appears that the UK is maintaining a 45-day minimum delay before digital release.

It appears that it’s speculated that the release of Joker 2 might become available for digital purchase or rental in the US as early as November, with a potential release in the UK following around mid-November. However, this is merely an educated assumption at this point, and no official confirmation has been made yet.

In the UK or US, you have the option to reserve a copy of “Joker 2” for early viewing by pre-ordering it on Prime Video and iTunes. This way, once the movie is made available digitally, you can start watching it right away.

Is Joker 2 available to stream?

It’s no surprise that as of now, “Joker: Folie à Deux” is not currently available for streaming in the UK or the US, and Warner Bros hasn’t announced a streaming release date yet.

It’s been confirmed that the release of Joker 2 will be streamable on Max in the United States, and on Sky Cinema in the UK when it becomes available for online viewing.

In the United States, it’s typically about a three-month gap between a Warner Bros movie’s cinema premiere and its availability on Max. Given this pattern, we can expect the streaming debut of Joker 2 around early January 2025 in the US if it follows suit.

In the United Kingdom, there will be a prolonged delay because it typically takes around nine months for Warner Bros movies to premiere on Sky Cinema.
