Metroid Prime 4 has been very popular since its recent release on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. If you’re still deciding whether to buy it, you can now try out a demo at participating retailers.

Metroid Prime 4 recently launched on the Switch 2, a significant event for fans since the last main installment, Metroid Prime 3, came out in 2007 for the Wii. And good news for anyone wanting to try before they buy – you can actually play a demo of the game, similar to how demos were offered on the Nintendo DS.

Metroid Prime 4 demo available at Best Buy and other stores

Remember when you could try out game demos on your Nintendo DS at stores like Walmart and Best Buy? Nintendo is doing something similar with the upcoming Switch 2! Players will be able to experience the official demo for Metroid Prime 4 at select locations:

  • Best Buy
  • Target
  • Walmart
  • GameStop

This demo is different from the previous one because playable systems will be provided on-site. You won’t need to bring your own console – just line up and you’ll be able to try the official Metroid 4 demo.

This is a fantastic opportunity to test the game and see if you like it before you buy it. Nobody wants to waste money on a $60 game they end up not enjoying.

Find out if your nearest store will have the demo out for play.

About Metroid Prime 4

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is the latest game in the Metroid Prime series. It’s been 18 years since the last official Metroid Prime game, which came out for the Wii in 2007.

Okay, so playing as Samus in this new game feels really different! The world is huge and open, letting me explore way more than in previous Metroid games. But it’s not totally open-world, if that makes sense. The story still guides you pretty directly, it’s just that there’s this big open area in the middle where you can roam around and do side stuff. It reminds me a lot of Ocarina of Time – Hyrule Field was like that, a central hub you could explore between story missions.

The game is getting great reviews and represents a fresh start for the series. You can play it on both the Switch and the new Switch 2.
