How to get Joker: Folie à Deux’s limited-edition 4K Steelbook
As a die-hard fan of the Dark Knight saga, I can’t help but feel my heart race with anticipation as Warner Bros unveils the details for “Joker: Folie à Deux” home video release! With a 4K Steelbook edition available exclusively from HMV, this is a collector’s dream come true.
Warner Bros has unveiled the specifics about the home video launch of “Joker: Folie à Deux“, including a high-end 4K Steelbox edition for collectors.
The release date for the Batman spin-off on streaming platforms hasn’t been revealed yet, but you can now pre-order this Steelbook edition exclusively at HMV for £34.99. Further details about the release date and special features will be shared later.
The Steelbook packaging for this 4K film features unique artwork: On the front, you’ll see a stylish interpretation of Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck; flipping it over reveals an inverted image showcasing Lady Gaga as both Lee and Harley Quinn.
Apart from the option you’re considering, other pre-order choices for home videos of Joker: Folie à Deux are also accessible. Amazon offers the standard 4K version at a price point of £24.99, and interestingly, you can find the same product on HMV and Zavvi as well.
All three retailers, including Amazon, HMV, and Zavvi, list their standard Blu-ray discs at a price of around £14.99 each. Notably, HMV offers the DVD for pre-order at an attractive price of £9.99, whereas Amazon’s pre-order price for the same is slightly more expensive at £10.
In Todd Phillips’ musical follow-up to the 2019 Academy Award-winning movie “Joker”, Arthur Fleck, played by Joaquin Phoenix, finds himself on trial for the actions depicted in the initial film. Gotham City’s deputy district attorney, Harvey Dent, portrayed by Harry Lawtey from “Industry”, is resolute in his pursuit to imprison him.
Outside the courtroom, Fleck develops a bond with a fellow Arkham Asylum resident named Harleen ‘Lee’ Quinzel (Lady Gaga), while supporters of The Joker’s chaotic ideology plan to rescue their leader from imprisonment.
Phillips has stated that there won’t be another Joker movie, as the upcoming film “Joker: Folie à Deux” concludes the story differently compared to the previous installments, leaving it less open-ended.
He shared with The Hollywood Reporter that the direction of this movie doesn’t seem to resonate with him. Instead, he feels his connection to the DC Universe is limited to those two particular films.
The movie ‘Joker: Two Faces of Madness’ is currently playing in theaters. If you missed it, you can own ‘Joker’ on Blu-ray or stream it online.
