As a seasoned gamer with countless hours under my belt, I can confidently say that Black Myth Wukong has quickly become one of my favorite games since its release last month. The thrilling battle against Yaoguai Chief Guangzhi is just another testament to this game’s incredible design and challenge.

In a successful debut on August 20, Black Myth Wukong has taken the spotlight as the most-played solo game on Steam, surpassing Cyberpunk’s popularity. One of the early bosses you encounter in this game is the Yaoguai Chief Guangzhi. Here’s a guide on how to conquer him and a glimpse into what lies ahead.

In summary, your Boss follows a specific strategy to defeat Gaungzhi, and it’s crucial for you as a player to grasp these tactics. To come out victorious against Gaungzhi, look for opportunities where he is vulnerable or not actively attacking you, and seize those moments to strike.

  1. The Vertical 360 Slash – Guangzhi does three Vertical 360-degree slashes. Each slash deals immense damage and you should avoid it at all costs. 
  2. The Spear Throw – Guangzhi throws his spear which will reach the other end of the arena and then come back. While it is easy to dodge the first throw, players often find themselves in the middle of the return path.
  3. Charge: Guangzhi can charge at you at lightning speed and leaves a flaming path behind. He does however, pause for a few seconds before the charge, which should give you ample time to get ready.
  4. Jump Charge. After spinning while backing off, Guangzhi jumps and instantly charges. 

In most cases, Guangzhi spins his weapon on the left side after completing his maneuvers. When you notice this, it’s time to counterattack. Approach him cautiously and strike back, but always stay alert for when a sound clue indicates he’s preparing to attack again. As soon as you sense that he might be attacking, begin dodging immediately to dodge any potential harm.

Key Things to Remember

  • If you are on Fire, remember to dodge three times. If you let the fire stay on you, then you will continue to take damage over time. This can be extremely detrimental as you try to win the fight against Guangzhi. 
  • The Immobilize spell is one of the most powerful spells for you as a player. You can use it in tough situations to freeze him in place and avoid any damage. It gives you time to replenish yourself and also deal damage while he is immobilized. 

In the course of the game, the Red Tide’s skill enables you to undergo a transformation, which is a vital maneuver during combat.
